Based on a Board of Adjustment agenda for March 25th, an Imos is planned at 1216-22 Hampton. It doesn’t say Imos but looking at who owns the property, it’s Marge and Ed Imo. I guess this means that the location at Hampton and Oakland will be replaced.
That would be a shame. The current location is in such an odd space that it would be hard to imagine anything else there. Maybe more overflow parking for the dealership.

This will be a win-win. Keep Imo's in the same place and get an eyesore, empty lot filled in. I always wondered why it took so long for this lot to be filled.
The Midas Construction bid page includes a project known as "Slim Chickens Hampton". Not sure where it is going yet, but I believe this could be the location due to the description.
Demolition of existing restaurant, construction of new 2700 SF restaurant including site work and paving.
That demolished restaurant would be the Chinese Restaurant in that 2-story building at Hampton and Victoria. Slim Chickens currently has one Metro area location, Troy Missouri, and plans to add many more here overtime. For those who don't know, they're similar to Raising Canes or Zaxby's.
So between this and Denny's (Slim Chickens), two sites that I had hoped for residential buildings to be built on are gone. Last one is the Talayna's site at Hampton and Berthold. I imagined that a 3-4 story apartment building on those 3 parcels would look good and help with that stretch of Hampton's remaining urban fabric.

Chris— How do you get enough rental revenue on these small parcels for a 3-4 story apartment building with garage parking, STL high construction costs, only 2-3 levels of apartments, etc?
I’m looking forward to both of these new restaurants opening.
There is demand for auto-centric fast food places and this is as good a location as any in the city.
