It is in the old Mill Creek Valley neighborhood. Coming from this paragraph...
Second Empire masterpieces weren’t all residences of the wealthy and famous, although some were owned as investment properties. Second Empire rowhouses, the majority sadly demolished, often had elaborate slate roofs and rhythmic rows of towers jutting out front. Take the row at the corner of Compton and Pine in Midtown, or the LaMotte Row at the corner of Lawton and Channing in the Mill Creek neighborhood. Nicholas DeMenil constructed a row of rental houses along 7th Street just west of South Broadway, on the edge of his property, just in front of his entrance to the Cherokee Cave system. When Lee Hess purchased the property, he adapted the old Second Empire rowhouses into his Streamline Moderne “museum,” which also provided access to the show cave under the streets of St. Louis.

If you’re looking for exact cross streets... I’m pretty sure Pine became Lawton around Jefferson. Channing is Josephine Baker I’m pretty sure. So like 3300 block of Pine is probably a safe bet.

Looks like it would be right about where SLU's baseball diamond is today.  101-109 N. Channing Ave

Haven't had a good snow here in a while.  PD had a couple cool (heh) shots this morning:

There is something about this city having a little snow on the ground that makes it look just stunningly beautiful.

That's one of my favorite spots in STL. Back when I used to work at Purina, I'd walk down there and work at that bench on nice days.

^ The little grotto in the park is so, so cool.  Lafayette Square on the whole is my favorite place in STL.  I just can’t get enough of it...architecture like this literally doesn’t exist at all in the town I used to live in.  Since I returned to STL I’ve probably spent more time in the Square than anywhere else but home lol.

^ THE best one.  Even if it’s not the most fancy.

I’m literally in the Square right now with my camera haha.

Edit:  By the way...if you search around for Harris Row you can read some pretty interesting history on it.  Was nearly lost for the proposed 755 extension...the city even considered relocating each home at one point before the highway project was finally killed off.

Here was the proposed "shift" in the NSD that would have spared them.  The original routing would have meant freeway ramps right outside the front doors of the almost equally beautiful row of homes on Hickory.

Amazing to me that the last two homes to sell on that row went for $299k and $335k.

^ Pretty reasonable. Not to get too far off topic, but the infill homes along Dolman look spectacular. Obviously you can’t truly recreate a turn of the century St. Louis streetscape today...but at a quick glance...Dolman comes pretty damn close.

Large shot of Mill Creek and Midtown in 1952.  SLU still had quite a few Second Empires on their present day campus at this point:
