One of the (recently retired) bigwigs from the City or County Police Department (sorry, don't remember which) was on Donnybrook a few weeks ago. She acknowledged that officers were instructed NOT to pull drivers over for anything but serious offences during most of the Spring and Summer.

Someone smoked one of the concrete barriers on Washington Avenue at a high enough speed last night to break it in two.

Police came and moved some debris afterwards, I wonder if they'll replace it?

I bet the concrete barrier is cheaper to replace than the car as smoked it. And you know what? Good riddance. Whoever did that doesn't need to be driving anyway.

There are quite a few like that on north Broadway just north of downtown, and the city is in no hurry to replace them.

Another pedestrian was struck and killed. This time in a parking lot in, I think, Fenton. I don't know what exactly happened, but people speeding through parking lots is one of my biggest peeves.

Saw a car smashed into the back of an STLFD truck on westbound 64 at Vandeventer this evening. Looked like a secondary accident.

A stolen truck crashed against the Starbucks on Sidney and Grand, which is now closed for the time being. Someone on Nextdoor was saying that the building suffered serious structural damage but it doesn't look like it from the outside.
