FWIW I filed a complaint the other day with the CSB

^ any word from the reporters? i have a feeling somebody got paid under the table to push this through. sh*t like this is going to keep happening until the penalty isn't a joke.
I haven't heard from them.
The only one with any info has been Richard Callow, but as we see the Assessor's website and what he has said are in conflict.

It will reflect poorly on Cultural Resources and the permitting process if this goes through.

prediction: they get demolished, some fingers get wagged, the facilitators get their kickbacks, nothing changes.
Despite prolific Tweeting, not a peep about it from Mr. Callow after his initial couple of replies...
Sucky thing about the locations of our stadiums is that they are just far enough apart that little parking is common.
Imagine if the assessment wouldn't go down when someone destroys a building for nothingness like a parking lot. At least the schoolkids etc wouldn't get screwed as bad. I guess that's what a property tax policy that primarily taxes land instead of improvements would accomplish.

Allegedly enterprise was/is currently considering moving the HQ close to the stadium....
Shame 909 Chestnut, Butler Brothers, Railway Exchange aren't closer.
If they're eyeing this block, then don't demo the buildings until you're ready to go. This is the Show Me State!dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Sep 05, 2020Allegedly enterprise was/is currently considering moving the HQ close to the stadium....

If enterprise says they’re moving their HQ there I’ll go drive my Audi right into that building to get the demo kick started
I'm old enough to remember when they were planning a new NFL stadium which meant demolishing a bunch of buildings? And then the stadium didn't happen. Luckily they didn't demo the buildings.
And remember when there was a Lumiere Phase II planned and they demoed a bunch of buildings? And then it didn't happen? And since we've had another parasite parking lot leaching off our CITY?

^ I hear you, but I think Enterprise is a little different than the casino situation. Since most of that block is parking already, it would be amazing if they built around the existing buildings. But as long as they're not all torn down for nothing, it's an easier pill to swallow.
If they've got a plan to do something more productive, let's hear it. So far there's no evidence of that.

I believe the plumbing permits disappearing temporarily was due to either a coding or data pull error in their system. I noticed that other properties that had previous tap destroy permits were missing them for a while. Looks like everything is pulling correctly again.quincunx wrote: ↑Sep 05, 2020The plumbing permits have reappeared and 3 of the 5 say complete.

I'm not sure there is a conflict... I think what's going on here is CRO has not approved the demo permits that have been issued by the Building Division. Whether that matters is the question.quincunx wrote: ↑Sep 05, 2020I haven't heard from them.

Do we have actual evidence that they’re being demolished for parking or have we all just been conditioned to expect the worst?

There is no evidence. I've talked to multiple people who said that at one time Enterprise WAS considering moving their HQ close to the stadium, could this be that? we have as much evidence for that as we do for parking lotaddxb2 wrote: ↑Sep 08, 2020Do we have actual evidence that they’re being demolished for parking or have we all just been conditioned to expect the worst?

Do we know who is doing the knockdown?
- Is it the MLS group directly?
- Is it a developer doing it on their own?
- Is it the city doing it for more parking for the police?

The name on the permits is traced back to a guy who works for Enterprise Holdings. It would be odd for them to be involved in same parking trade off and not the mls team llc
Exactly. I’m all for grassroots efforts to prevent needless loss of buildings for parking...
But secret Enterprise acquisitions adjacent to a massive Taylor family stadium doesn’t really scream surface parking to me. Assuming the permit seeker is actually connect to Enterprise, it screams big deal hush hush to prevent price gouging or a rush of downtown west developers.
If this were a parking swap for police or games ... why wouldn’t MLS STL Inc just outright buy it? Why get a buffer?

TKFC LC is the designated developer of the stadium redevelopment area. They are receiving public assistance. This property is outside the boundary of the redevelopment area, so you can see why it might be a problem for the same entity to go on an acquisition spree in the neighborhood, unless they amend the redevelopment agreement. I am fairly certain that they began acquiring this property before the redevelopment agreement was approved.addxb2 wrote: ↑Sep 08, 2020Exactly. The secrecy could be for a few reasons. The MLS owners repeatedly said in the press last year that they would not be adding fan parking to the area. It might be embarrassing if it was revealed that they were involved. It would also be bad PR if it appeared that some of that public assistance was going to provide parking to for-profit corporations (Stonemont Financial and Anthem/BCBS).
But probably the most important reason is that the acquisition price of this block would be used against them to determine the value of parcels they need to acquire ASAP on the stadium site, especially in any eminent domain proceedings, if it was the same ownership group.
