There are demo permits for the fined-grained human-scaled "city" buildings on 1900 Olive. What's going on?

Pitch314, owner of it is in care of Brian Holke and google says he is a project manager at Enterprise Holdings
I wonder if this will lead to new construction around the new MLS Stadium in the future. Similar to BPV. But if that were the case, they should just renovate these buildings

Looks like the same company has bought all the buildings on that block
They're in a preservation review district. Don't recall it being before the PRB. Did something supersede that?
If this is to replace parking taken by the MLS stadium, rage!

Could be but the buying was started in December of 2019, i dont think its related to replacing the anthem lot.

This may actually be pay back for SLMPD leaving their lot that’s now the stadiums north end. I hope it’s not but it makes sense.....
A ***** crime. This is a perfect row for pre/post match drinks and celebrating wins. Pisses me off to no end.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Aug 29, 2020Could be but the buying was started in December of 2019, i dont think its related to replacing the anthem lot.
Anything here? Anyone?quincunx wrote: ↑Aug 29, 2020They're in a preservation review district. Don't recall it being before the PRB. Did something supersede that?
https://twitter.com/mustarddaddy based on following, this would make sense as the same Brian Holke. Can't he see the potential to turn that row into a solid string of football pubs?dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Aug 29, 2020Pitch314, owner of it is in care of Brian Holke and google says he is a project manager at Enterprise Holdings

If you've never been to a proper football pub...imagine a string of Nick's pubs in all their glory. You can't get that from new buildings.

These are is not in a local or national historic district. It is in a Preservation Review District. So I don’t think it would ever come to the board, staff would decide and the permits were issued the same day so I guess the staff decided to allow it
Anyone have a recent photo? Has any demo activity commenced? Fences?
That's some whack
. Easier to live with if something bomb is built, but even then 3/4th of that block is just parking...
Doesn't look like they've started demo. There is an AALCO Wrecking Co dumpster on site.

St. Louis gonna St. Louis. utter f*cking garbage.
I swear. Large swaths of this city don’t have enough architectural protection. Big investment should not mean destruction of granularity. I guess one could write to cultural resources and the alderman to complain about such instant demo permits?

Who do we complain to?

Parking is an unfortunately easy "win" for the owner. There is about to be an increase in demand (without considering the loss of any of the existing parking), coupled with the aforementioned decrease in supply. It's sadly likely to be more profitable as parking than it would be as a futbol bar plus a few residences or office spaces. It's sad.
