The sidewalk is still a broken mess. Same along Chouteau. Hopefully they'll address it after they resurface the parking lot.quincunx wrote: ↑Aug 21, 2020Good to see. A frustratingly dumpy eyesore on your way walking from the north/Metro station. Did the sidewalk along Taylor get replaced? It was a weedy, broken mess.
Did anyone save this doc?framer wrote: ↑Sep 18, 2019This link takes you to the Park Central Development Meeting Agenda. It's 62 pages of info, including maps, renderings, data, etc. Much more info than can be shown here or on Chris's site.

Looks like the LCRA agreed to issue $57 million in industrial revenue bonds for this project.quincunx wrote: ↑Aug 22, 20204500 Swan in front of LCRA board for sales tax exemption on construction materials and 75% property tax abatement for 10 years.

The city of St. Louis' Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority agreed to award up to $57 million in industrial revenue bonds for Green Street's new multifamily project. Green Street plans to build 307 market-rate apartments at 4500 Swan Ave. and 1305 S. Taylor Ave. at the western end of The Grove in the city's Forest Park Southeast neighborhood.
The project, estimated to cost around $57 million, would also include 1,450 square feet of ground-level retail. Construction is expected to start in October and take about 18 months, according to documents filed with the city of St. Louis. The bonds would facilitate a sales tax exemption on construction materials bought in the city.
Late last year, the city granted 10 years of tax abatement at 75% of the property's value to Green Street.

At this point, selling it would be a win for the SLSC and the neighborhood.Laife Fulk wrote: ↑Aug 27, 2020The Science Center. So I wouldn’t expect to see it developed into mixed use any time soon. If anything, I’d expect them to do some community garden or interactive learning attraction. Who knows, maybe they’ll decide to sell at some point.
Catty cornered to it across Kingshighway is where they do their Youth Exploring Science program. I could imagine it being used for something along those lines. Obviously not at the present. And I'd see it as pretty hazardous to get a group of kids to cross two busy thoroughfares just to play in some biodomes.framer wrote: ↑Aug 27, 2020^Exactly. I don't see how that site could fit into the Science Center's future plans. Why hold onto something they don't need?
