Update from today. Something is above ground. If you zoom there is a staircase rising from the second story. Construction is all steel for now. Looking at what is there, the footprint is going to be much smaller than what I was expecting from renders. This may not be the actual footprint at this point as they aren't very far along.

Also if a mod comes along, could we rename the thread to "The Clarendale"? I *think* that's what the name is.

Had bfast with the developer this morning. The tower crane will be on site after about floor 4. The leasing office will be located across the street in 7700 Clayton and the grand opening is scheduled for May 2021.
No confirmation on a tenant for the retail bay but it’ll likely be a cafe with outdoor seating.

Is it possible to change the name of this thread to The Clarendale of Clayton? The crane is up.  The building is so tight to the corner of Hanley & Clayton it will really give the wow factor for people entering Clayton going North on Hanley.

Just moved into a new place in the Moorlands and saw that crane today...looking forward to seeing this rise on that lot...finally.

Well done on maintaining the sidewalk too...

Such a strange crane. Very thin (to me) but nice to see another one in the sky over the region. One Hundred's and One Cardinal Way's will soon come down making this one the only one up (until the Chelsea Apartments and the AC Hotel get one).

^ I’d also assume 4210 and Wash U’s Neuroscience building in Cortex and Forsyth Pointe in Clayton will soon have theirs going up too.

Forgot about those. So we will have 6 up at once in different locations.

^^ Not to take the thread too far off topic, but likely a couple more than that. Presumably the MLS stadium will require two or three once they start heavy construction, granted they won’t be building towers.

Another for Queeny’s eventual replacement...though I highly, highly doubt that starts this year.

The stadium will probably use crawler cranes, but there are other potential tower cranes to add to the list: the new Balke-Brown apartment building on West Pine around the corner from One Hundred, the TOD apartments on Debaliviere, and the Moxy downtown...

Was looking out the window of the spare bedroom today and discovered I’ll have a fairly nice view of Clarendale’s progress:

^I love it when folks show me where they live! ;-)

And yes, that is a very nice view of the action.

Mind you, I've posted shots from my house too, but the landmarks and rooflines visible from my little piece of paradise are more generic. Maybe I'll have to shoot a few photos before the leaves really come in while maybe you can see just a hair further. (Part of the problem is I'm a little lower down and more surrounded by trees. They pretty well block line of sight to anything more interesting than my neighbor's yards most of the year.)

Anyway, sorry to tease. Please forgive my bad habit of turning every photo into a "where am I."

Haha, no worries.  I actually have a better view of the Clarendale action from the kitchen.  Surprised I didn't notice earlier...granted I spend more time looking out the front...

Wait a second!
My wife and I lived at 7229 Parkdale (can’t remember the exact numbers) when we were first married. I swear that fortress/turreted/big underground garage door center frame is where we lived. Ground floor on the right.

^See, I wasn't saying the digits, but I believe your building would have been a block and a half further west than the number you're recalling. Unless they've renumbered since, which . . . maybe? It does happen. (I have a friend who's ZIP code changed when they moved his route from one post office to another.)

^ & ^^ 7553-7559 is that large building across the way in that Instagram picture. Same landlord as my building. Really nice place...completely gutted and renovated within the last 2 years or so. Really well done.

They're working on the third floor. Looks like the same  kind of construction method that was used on Citizen Park at Euclid and Lindell. Rather than building a full-height skeleton framework, they seem to just stack each wall section on top of the previous.

The Clarendale continues to rise.  I like how the south facade hugs Clayton Rd.

The profile looks much slimmer in real life than I had expected from the renderings.
