Looks sharp with the glass going in and most of the brick laid. I also like the subtle changes in the brick tone.
^Yep. The brick tones are nice, and it's also got many subtle detailing features that aren't readily apparent. Should be a handsome building.
Went to Blueberry Hill on Saturday night and on the drive home took Delmar east to Skinker. It was disorienting because with this building, the character of that intersection has changed so much it was unrecognizable. Even looking at the street sign my mind was like "But this can't be Skinker".
^Love it! I had the same reaction when Southtown lost its Famous. This is a much better way to be disoriented.
^^Lol. I missed my turn on Skinker because I thought I had further to go before that derelict lot.

The sidewalk is poured. Hope this is getting close. Numerous people were walking in the street today.
^I can't find the article, but the PD had a story a couple of days ago about a new bill in St. Louis to require contractors to improve sidewalk access during construction.
Having several of these in residential and creative office forms in Midtown, Grand Center and Downtown West would do wonders.
^ Wow, this is a good piece of infill!! As mentioned earlier, we need several more of these on underutilized corners across the city. Really my only complaint is the closure of the sidewalk, but I will soon forgive that as the CVS will interact very well with the street.
Interesting. I've wondered what was originally on those corners. I'm surprised there was a one-story refrigerator store? on such a busy intersection, but that was probably a replacement for something even older, maybe even two previous buildings there.
I wouldn't be surprised if those one story buildings were the first development of that corner. The Loop was pretty auto-centric back in those days (in a 1930's kind of way), with 3-4 gas stations. This is a damn good addition to the Loop. The glass corners, what looks to be two-tone brick...even the marquee sign. Really well done all around.
