I watched most of the first game. It was better than I expected.

Not sure I see this league going more than a few years at most but it’s promising.

Also. I like that they are in bigger cities. In a bigger city you need a smaller % of the population to buy in than for example a Birmingham or most of the cities the AAF chose. Easier to find 20k New Yorkers than 20K in a smaller city.
I think people also underestimate how many people in big cities want to watch professional football live but can’t afford NFL tickets. In Seattle, it’s not uncommon for nose bleeds to go for $200+. So the Dragons offer a friendly alternative pricing for the working class.

2001 vs 2020... Almost more important than quality of 1st week play is quality of 1st week social media communications.

If XFL has a few good plays, a few funny moments, and a few heartfelt moments Week 2 and 3 tickets will do MUCH better.

We won our first game. I wonder if this will boost ticket sales any or if people will wait to see how we do in the second game.

ESPN has highlights of the game. STLToday does not, no mention of it.
According to STLToday, the XFL doesn’t even exist. I don’t understand their editorial policy.

Jim Thomas is in Dallas for the game and he'll have a report for The Post-Dispatch and STLToday. He was tweeting throughout the game.  Thomas will NOT be the regular reporter for the Battlehawks.  The beat writer is Joe Lyons.

The ESPN broadcast of the St. Louis game was pretty bad.  It felt like a college game.  The FOX-broadcasted games were much more professional.  The first half was very boring, with too many penalties and confusion across the board - players, officials, announcers...  The last half was more interesting, although there wasn't much crowd / stadium noise.

According to ProFootballTalk 3.3 million people watched the first XFL game on ABC, and viewership peaked at the end of the game.  That's more than watched the AAF opener, FWIW.

Watched the game, enjoyed it, and it was great to be the only road team to win.  Man - some of the penalties, and big mistake on a special teams play. Thought defense looked great (could also be Dallas's injured starting QB).  Our own QB had some exciting moments too.  Ready for next weekend, and very excited for the home opener.

BTW, you can't get 2 or more tickets together for the home opener for under $66 each.  Looks like the lower bowl will sell out, unless they haven't released all the lower bowl seats yet.

I just opened the STLToday app on my phone and one of the first links was photos from their first victory as of 38 minutes ago. The sports section had that and another XFL link. My guess is you’ll see other reporting once the editors finish the editing for tomorrow’s paper and finalize everything.

That's still better than an NFL home opener

Not to beat a dead horse, I did see that photo link (or a photo link on STLToday.) The photos are from the Dallas newspaper’s photographer. It’s not original content, basically a repost of Dallas’ media gallery.

Kidding, I am beating a dead horse, beating it ‘til there’s nothing left but a pile of glue and dog food.

We’re definitely reaching “lack of ticket inventory” territory. Better get your tickets now (if you don’t already have them).

MY Note: I bought my tickets after today's game and there was a lot of activity on all of the ticket sites.  There's not much inventory left on the BattleHawks side of the Dome.

Looking at the schedule, the XFL games are going head-to-head with the second round and Elite 8 games of the NCAA tournament for two consecutive weekends.  That's going to be a big viewership test...

BTW, who was the genius that scheduled the April 5th Battlehawks home game to start at 11 AM?  That's just a couple hours before the Cardinals' Sunday afternoon game of their home opener series against the Browns...er, I mean Orioles.

STLBH were 9.5 point road dogs and won outright. Impressive.

I heard them say that and I thought how do you place a number on it when neither team has played one down?

Hey, if Vegas can set a line for a Canisius vs Stony Brook college basketball game they can set a line for anything. It's quite an operation they're running out there and they are in no danger of going out of business.

^The number is basically set at the point where there are equal dollars being placed on both sides. Not so much based on performance but more "wisdom of the crowds" guiding that. Having the Dallas QB1 sit out probably came as a bit of a shock to the betting public. Not sure how good XFL is at getting injuries reported ahead of game time.

Here's a follow-up article from the P-D.  BattleHawks score a 7.4 T.V.rating, the best in the nation.

Not many seats left! I'm pumped!
I got two tickets to the home opener yesterday, for $164, fees included, in section 143. That win really drove up the dynamic pricing.

My season tickets are in section 143 - row CC.  I am very excited as well! Question, which I will try and research.  The Houston game is said to be airing on FS1.  Locally, what does that mean?

FS1 (Fox Sports 1) is a national channel like espn.
