Significant progress has been made excavating the South end of the site. Looks like significant foundation work should be beginning there in short order.

I assume you mean the East side where the parking garage will be located. Just a friendly reminder that there is a live webcam where you can see the tower and parking progress. Link.

Per Clayco, here's the most recent update on timelines for each component:
  • The Hanley Tower and East Garage (at Forsyth & Carondelet/Jackson) will be complete in June 2019
  • The new Wellbridge portion of the Hanley Tower will be complete in August 2018.
  • The old Wellbridge building will be demolished in October 2018, when they will begin construction on the West Garage.
  • The West Garage (attached to Hanley Tower) will be complete in September 2020.

The tower has gotten too large for the old webcam. They have re positioned it across the street.

What webcam are you using? The TrueLook construction cam hasn't been moved (yet).

^I'm guessing in square footage it will be the largest in Clayton?

^One would assume. It is going to be the tallest by 10 feet and it's office which generally contains more sq footage than other uses.

Glass is starting to go up on the pavilion. Looks like it's only on the East side so far.

Nothing earth shattering but here's a screen cap from this afternoon after some of the glass has gone in facing the ox-blue webcam. Looks like it's about time for a crane jump as well.

I really like the way the new facade is similar, but not identical, to the original tower across the street.

I may have asked this before so I apologize if I am rehashing this topic, but is there an ordinance in Clayton prohibiting building signage? Centene has their name plastered all over every building they are currently leasing with the exception of their actual headquarters. Additionally none of the renderings have any signage on them. This seems strange to me, especially considering the visibility of Clayton when coming from the airport to the majority of the metro area via I-170.

I never noticed this but they all have signs, they are just right above the first level (lobby level). None are at the top. Interesting catch. I would think there must be a rule making them do this, like you suggest.

They hopped up another floor today on the concrete central core. Surely we'll see some more height to the crane in the near future as a result... with the concrete boom arm on top in use, it's pretty dang close to being at the same height as the crane arm now.

When driving northbound Hanley you can see the core and crane rising from the top of the hill as you're passing the new Porsche dealership. With the right lens it would make for a cool picture.

Yes, Clayton has a pretty strict sign ordinance, it essentially requires signs to be of a certain size, and at ground level, or no higher than the top of the first level of the building. There was a relatively detailed discussion at a recent ARB meeting regarding the proposed/requested signage for The Barton which was largely shot down.

In part the ordinance states: "The purpose of requiring wall signs to be located at first floor ceiling height is to direct signage toward pedestrians and traffic along the sidewalk. By raising the sign location above the first floor ceiling height, the sign is aimed toward vehicle traffic and is no longer compatible"

Here is a link to the ARB minutes if anyone wants more detail: https://www.claytonmo.gov/Home/Componen ... rash=False
