Just for grins I was browsing through Fodor's St. Louis page. One or two observations:

1. They still list Union Station as a shopping destination. (And Laclede's Landing, but I digress.)
2. In places to stay they list . . . wait for it . . . The Millenium.

Pros . . . (Yeah, there's nothing on their list. Though I heard good things about it, actually. From folks that knew I had other local hotel connections.)
Cons . . . Well, let's see. It's been closed for, oh, three years? More or less? Update, kids. Update.

The top sight was the Kennel Club museum that's leaving. The Botanical Garden doesn't show up until you hit "more." And the Symphony doesn't show up at all. Anywhere. Okay guys, I know we're a little ways off the beaten path, but . . . would you please update? It looks like you haven't sent a scout this decade.

Glad to see Forest Park getting its due. It's truly a great park. But, wow, the rest of their list needs a little attention. There's good stuff there, but it's OLD! (And not quite what I would pick. Which is always a tremendous crime.)

could they have picked a more generic photo? why would you look through a bunch of photos of Forest Park and go "Wow, that art museum set atop a hill overlooking a giant fountain-studed basin is lovely but let's use this completely generic picture of some trees!"

Ughh. I hate when they do that, although most of the photos are bad. Especially Stockholm's... some geese. But yeah, I've taken better photos of FP on my phone with half a bottle of wine in my other hand.

This week on Superstore, season 2 finale, a tornado hits St. Louis. Other than brief mentions of local weather, the last shot was the store with a distant STL skyline.

Love the Independent and their decidedly British phrasing, "black boys," in referencing those arrested during the incident. Races of officers were not headlined nor mentioned in the local print story.

They should ask for our IP addresses too. I'm sure Putin will want that also.

But seriously, I propose that when we vote, we each get to add a made up one time secret pseudonym to put on our ballot. Then publish all votes by pseudonym on the front door of the voting site so we can add up the votes ourselves. And we can see our own vote is shown correctly.

To be fair, it sounds like (like most states) they're only sending the already-public information, not the more sensitive info like partial SSNs.

I don't know if it's creepy, just clumsy. They just want to pull all the info together so they can say "John Smith voted in 4032 counties, tally 4031 instances of voter fraud".

So if it is public, why don't these lazy staffers get it from public sources. Is this the same GOP that locally was last to set up a drug interaction database, or bring our IDs into homeland security compliance at the airport over big brother concerns? It's pretty clear from all sources that voter ID fraud by individuals is nearly nonexistent. But Putin attempts at election manipulation is. Who do they work for?

Edit: It's actually even stupider. In Kansas, Sec of State Kris Kobach stated he would only be able to provide publicly available information to the voter fraud commission chaired by Kris Kobach.

Forbes reports that Gary Kasparov is coming out of retirement to play a tournament in St. Louis:
