The newest runway or the original southern runway nearest the terminals?

^ Wow! Many thanks for posting this, Denis!

Some interesting items:

• $178 million + across Tier 1 & 2 for I-70 improvements from 141 to 170 which includes Reconfigure STL Airport access.
• $43 million for Light Rail Vehicle replacement for Metro
• $12 million for Electric Bus Acquisition for Metro
• $1.8 million to add third River Runner Amtrak train StL to KC
• $31.9 million to extend runway at Lambert (?)
• $16.5 million to demolish building at Lambert (Terminal 1 departures) (?)

There's plenty more, but those jumped out to me. Fascinating list. Many thanks again for posting!
Thanks as well.

You could only hope that most of the Tier 1 & 2 items that Kota pulled out gets funded.

Strange.  That runway is longer than the newest one and can handle any heavies we may encounter.  Maybe the objective is to allow shorter taxing for westbound take-offs when new concourses are built.  Can't imagine any other explanation.

Bi State CEO this morning fired the Director of Transit, Jessica Mefford Miller. She’s been one of the best transit leaders in the country and the clown ceo canned her. post has a story on it where it says she left but that’s not what happened. She’s been banned from talking publicly about transit by the CEO since last year too

Why was she great leader? Can't say I pay much attention to Metro's politics but my experience as a rider has not been great.

Never really heard much from or about her myself. 🤔

Generally, most St. Louis leadership is pretty bad though.

^ Thanks for sharing this link. If MO collects $350 million a year from the new gas tax (see below link) plus $8 billion from Biden's infrastructure bill (see below link) that would create a pool of monies which would easily cover the following: previously unfunded projects ($753 million), Tiers 1-3 ($4.84 billion) & multimodal ($1 billion) over a 10 year timespan. Above cost estimates from Page 71 of Missouri High Priority Unfunded Needs Jan 2022.

https://news.stlpublicradio.org/governm ... provements

https://www.stlpublicradio.org/governme ... est-states

The Biden administration's infrastructure bill will dramatically increase the scope of what MO can put towards its infrastructure needs.

You'd think it'd be scandalous that the amount of unfunded "needs" is so large. Like how IL's pension system is so underfunded. Maybe this should be a warning not to build more stuff we can't take care of? Or dial back luxurious projects like the Farmington flyovers?   Does the list include emerging needs expected over the next ten years? Also the I70 rebuild is conspicuously missing.

Next round of RAISE grants being opened for applications, formerly BUILD, and before that TIGER.   I assume Brickline and street infrastructure as an avenue (pun intended) for city and GRG to pursue a RAISE Grant in next funding round.    Maybe change it up and city could put together a RAISE grant to convert Grand & FPP to at grade intersection and remove the Market St interchange altogether.  In other words, continuous BLLVD

I assume the region transportation entities will put forth grant applications on the various river and intermodal ports, freight gateway projects.   RAISE bumped up to $1.5 billion.    In my wishfull thinking the region would put together a plan to remove the raised section of freeway between to the Dome & Landing with RAISE and Rams settlement funds being an avenue to fund demo and BLVD replacement.   But with a second Stan span on MoDOT's long term, Tier 3, wishlist who knows if they would ever agree to a Blvd replacment.

https://www.progressiverailroading.com/ ... nts--65768

RAISE is the first discretionary funding program to accept applications as directed by the new Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), which President Joe Biden signed into law in November 2021. The $1.5 billion in available funding for 2022 represents a 50% increase in available funds compared to last year.

Projects will be evaluated on such criteria as safety, environmental sustainability, quality of life, economic competitiveness and opportunity, state of good repair, partnership and innovation.

I would love to see some details of these proposals in the area, like reconfiguring interchanges on 44 and 64. Trying to imagine what would need to be reconfigured at Hampton and 44.

That road is the worst. I take that to get onto 55 south. Usually, I stay out of the left lane because I'm freaked out that oncoming traffic will plow into me, but I take my chance now since the right lanes are riddles with potholes. There are some really gnarly potholes downtown on Tucker and 14th. Hit a couple on my commute to work, and the noise was so loud I thought I popped a tire.

STL city badly needs a charter amendment to allow for design build project delivery method. With all the ARPA and infrastructure money to spend over the next few years and every other entity have money you won’t get many contractors bidding on small potato jobs. City should do a $50m infrastructure design build and award it to the bidder that presents the best plan
