Dapper Gents has completed its move to Ladue to a strip mall at 9670 Clayton Road. Downtown location is now closed
With the Cardinals/Cubs game, Q in the Lou, and some big convention at the dome tonight, downtown was already buzzing on my way back home from work

^ it was awesome to see! Just drove down from Chicago. Downtown St. Louis this afternoon had more people on the street than I’ve seen on any sidewalk in the loop since COVID (not including Michigan Ave).
Downtown STL felt like a real downtown this weekend! In two months this the first time that I’ve seen it this packed! I don’t mind it a bit! It made it feel safe and booming!

Agree completely. My wife and I took the MetroLink downtown from the CWE station and it was packed completely. Also saw tons of tourists riding with suitcases in tow.
The arch grounds and WashAve were packed to the brim. It felt very safe (we’ve never had problems honestly), but the extra people definitely help. Even Lacledes Landing seemed to be doing pretty well. We walked around just after some rain hit and despite the weather, people really were out and about.

There was a 20,000 person conference. It was some kinda of self help group for self employment people. it was bizarre, almost like a cult. Almost everyone was very young.
It’s so vague. https://www.ltdhq.com/about/

If it’s vague like that, it’s usually an MLM/CultdbInSouthCity wrote:There was a 20,000 person conference. It was some kinda of self help group for self employment people. it was bizarre, almost like a cult. Almost everyone was very young.

It's so bizarre because I heard this explained to me three different ways and it's still not clear. The best I can summarize is: LTD is Amway without the products.SeattleNative wrote: ↑Oct 04, 2021If it’s vague like that, it’s usually an MLM/CultdbInSouthCity wrote: It’s so vague. https://www.ltdhq.com/about/

From the BBB website:
I was involved in *****/ LTD back in 2018 and I have noticed a lot of recruitment in my area, so I wanted to leave a review/ warning to anyone thinking of joining Leadership Team Development and *****. For legal purposes, I will say that the following is MY OPINION and experience/ observations while I was in *****/LTD. Like MANY others have said, this "training group" is full of master manipulators and straight up con artists. While the ***** business model may be "legal" in the eyes of the government, it's still a thinly veiled pyramid scheme. The ***** just has connections to the political parties who help MLM's stay legal via loopholes and such. Leadership Team Development is ran like one big CULT! The uplines will use fake Christianity to convince you that becoming rich and materialistic is something God wants you to do. Just the gross use of religion to scam people is disgusting and wrong. They also promote an "US VS THEM" mentality in regards to people who are skeptical of the ***** and LTD business model. The uplines and diamonds openly mock people who leave the "business" calling them losers, broke minded, dream stealers etc. It's all done to shame those who might about leaving. If you do wake up and realize this is a scam and leave, those "friendships" that you have with uplines and others in the group quickly disappear. They only "care" about you as long as your pouring money into the tool scam ( buying books, audios, LTD app subscription, ***** product ditto purchases and conference tickets). Not to mention, uplines want control over not just your money, but EVERY aspect of your life. I personally saw downlines not buying food or groceries at the request of upline. They wanted them to eat ***** meal bars and only spend money on ***** and LTD stuff. Many uplines also want you to ask "permission" to do things like dating, marriage, buying a house or car etc. The want you to get their advice on all those things (which is usually self serving). Also, while LTD claims the books, audios, and conferences are optional, many uplines will pressure downline to buy into the tool scam. If not, they will shame or threaten downline by saying they won't "mentor" them anymore. All this is done so that uplines and anyone above you in the group makes money while you make VERY little ( 5-10 dollars) or most likely none at all (AKA Pyramid scheme). You WILL lose more money than you will make in this "business". I hope that if ***** continues into the years, they really do something about these training groups like LTD and *** and modify their business model. Then maybe the business will be a better opportunity for people interested in these kind of things.
Unfortunately when a cult writes a check, it usually clears. Not too different from the big Jehovah's Witnesses conventions that have been held in St. Louis.
Especially in a city where a significant part of the economic structure is devoted to "evil" industries (Defense, Alcohol, Coal, etc.)Ebsy wrote: ↑Oct 05, 2021Unfortunately when a cult writes a check, it usually clears. Don't forget our chemical friends! DuPont, Bayer, and Mallinckrodt have all done their fair share of damage to the region/world.

^I have to admit I chuckled a bit when they described Brad Waldrop as "a developer who owns parking lots downtown"... Not the most flattering title to be given...
Business Journal did a 4-part series on downtown. Really well done, actually. Scroll to the bottom of this article to access the links for each part.

I might not be the best at math but these percentages seem way off...
From 2010 to 2020, the number of people living downtown increased from 1,721 to 5,442 – a 46.2% increase. There was a 30% increase in Downtown West – from 1,175 to 5,115, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Combined, that’s a 38% population increase.

^Yeah, the percentage calculations are way off. Also, I think the 2010/2020 numbers listed are just plain wrong... At least the 2010 numbers.

% is correct but the 2010 number is actually the difference between the raw 2010 and 2020 number. Once you figure out that math the % checks out
