Actually, that is very interesting. And apparently the DVR's actually could be shut down. Part of Judge Folsom's order:
Defendants are hereby FURTHER ORDERED to, within thirty (30) days of the issuance of this order, disable the DVR functionality (i.e., disable all storage to and playback from a hard disk drive of television data) in all but 192,708 units of the Infringing Products that have been placed with an end user or subscriber. The DVR functionality, i.e., disable all storage to and
playback from a hard disk drive of television data) shall not be enabled in any new placements of the Infringing Products.
This really is kind of hilarious.
Great decision by the Judge. Screw over millions of people because EchoStar infringed a patent. Hopefully, Judge Folsom doesn't hear a case alleging that some company that makes pace-makers infringed on a patent. "Well, shut em all down!"
If anyone's getting DishNetwork installed in the next couple days, please post to see if DishNetwork is already complying with the order "not to enable" any new DVRs.
Went for a visit today. The place (as a whole) is really starting to come together. Paid the deposit on my lift. Ran across a smokin' hot blonde on the third floor. Anyone know who she is?
Stopped into Flannery's for lunch. Seems like a nice neighborhood bar type place. Not the fake trendy crap of other locations in the area.
We stopped by yesterday too... looks like they're almost done hanging drywall on the 8th floor so I'm hoping that they'll get to the 9th floor this week! We talked to a guy on the 7th floor who said he's closing next week.
It sounds like our completion date's being pushed back again... Ted said we're probably looking at mid October instead of third week of Sept, first week of October. At this point I'll be happy if we're in my Thanksgiving!
I guess they're waiting until all of the lofts are done before they work on the sculpture that's going in the light well? I can't wait to see how that looks.

Jeff told me they couldn't release the 8th floor until the 9th floor was done, per the fire marshall. Unless they get a waiver, which they (Paric) are working on. He made it sound like 9th floor would be done by the end of Sept.

Sculpture?
BTW, the wall in the lobby looks like it might be cool when it is done.
We haven't heard anything official, just that Ted thought we may need to push back a week or two. You may want to call him and see if he has an updated timeline for the 8th floor.
As for the lightwell, the drawings that they had in the showroom on the first floor showed a sculpture that would be in the lightwell to make it more interesting. But when I was there yesterday I didn't see any signs that it's been started.
The last I was told there will be a fountain in the light well. They have finished the siding on at least one of the walls of the light wall with the corrugated galvanized steel. I think it looks great! They still have to put in the metal slats into the back brick wall. I would expect they have to have all of that completed before they can deal with the fountain.

So are they covering up all of the brick in that lightwell? Why?
When I looked at that place on the Loft Tour, one of the developers asked whether I thought they should cover the brick. I of course said, "NOOO!". Apparently they didn't listen to me...
We went to check out our loft yesterday, and as usual, nobody was in the sales office to let us in. It was a few minutes after noon, when they're supposed to open. We were lucky enough that someone was going into the building and let us in.
We left a message for the sales office and got a return call at 3 from a woman who said that Hip is still on vacation, and so is Ted, so she was filling in, but she didnt' get there until 2.
This is the THIRD time we've been there during the posted hours and nobody was there to let us in, and it's getting really frustrating! Is anyone else having this problem, or are we just picking bad times to go there? We made an appointment for next weekend so hopefully they'll show up.

I got there at 2:00, and no one was there. Luckily, some other people were coming in, and they let me in. I wandered around the 8th floor for a while, and then left around 2:30. I checked on the way out, and still, no one was there.

The steel siding is only on the three walls where the units are. The fourth wall, the brick one, is not being covered as far as I know.

They are covering up where the brick was broken in vertical strips in various places in the lightwell. The rest of the back wall brick is supposed to be left alone. The other three walls are to be completely covered by the metal siding.
Gold's Gym - fliers will be available in the sales office tomorrow. The Meridian 'special' is one month free membership to try out the gym. No strings attached and if you don't like it, you obviously will not have to sign a contract. For those that are interested, it's $19 a month and they are offering either a free mountain bike (Mongoose) or 2 months free membership.
You will need to take the flier to Gold's in order to take advantage of this special offer. I am going to inquire with the Meridian's sales office about leaving some fliers in a more accessible area since it's sometimes hard to get someone in the office.
Let me know if you have trouble obtaining a flier as I will keep some in my unit just in case. FYI - I am not affliated with Gold's nor am I receiving anything from them for posting this info. Just spreading the word in case other unitowners are interested!
have been in for over a month and things are going really well. Love the location - not too crazy about the blue paint on the front and sides of the building and still lots of construction going on but things are looking good.
For others that are already moved in - could you please tell me how your combo unit is working? I have one but have not used it b/c I have heard they are so awful, your clothes don't dry and they smell once they are partially dry. I was planning on selling mine and getting a stackable unit. I just wanted to get feedback before I do anything. Thanks!
Been in for about 3 weeks and am generally pleased/content.
Some general comments
- Would like to see the 2nd elevator in operation soon, especially as more people move in.
- If I can be honest, I agree with many of the others that the blue paint on the exterior of the building seems kind of tacky and out of place.
- Has anyone seen the plan and schedule for the lobby? Currently the lobby is in a state of disarray and a bit of an eyesore/embarassment when bringing guests in. Since it is the main entrance, it'd be nice to see this completed sooner rather than later. I don't see how move-ins can impact this as people use the freight elevator in the rear.
- Not sure if the directory / paging device for access into the building works for inhabitants yet. I only see Hip's name listed on there.
That's all, of the top of my head. When are you tentatively scheduled to move in, CS?

Does it still scream at 1,000 decibals? I literally had to leave the vestibule.
