I think the first tower (whatever the smallest one is) was proposed in the first phase.

I have heard that a version of the Pin-Up Bowl will not be in the Bottle District or at least not one by Joe Edwards.

I like how this has moved further away from being an entertainment district and is becoming more of a real neighborhood.

also, it appears those four towers that are shaded blue aren't residential, but what does "AC" mean? If if relates to size or height, the skyline tower is going to be huge, because it's AC is almost triple the Park Avenue, which appears to be about 35 or 40 stories

so is it clear at all whether or not these will be residential or commercial buildings

The plan, until we see more detail, seems to leave option open for both. I would suspect mainly residential, but if the office market turns around, this is a definite oppurtunity for mixed use towers, or maybe even an entire office tower.

I was wondering if any of the planned highrises are under construction yet?

Basically just some rubble from an old wharehouse being moved around and some utility relocations for Laclede Gas.

I haven't seen that rendering yet...

I find it quite interesting, especially with the light columns at the tops of the buildings. I like the building with the parapet towards the back, hard to tell what they will look like though with the colored pencil rendering.

I like it. The rendering also matches the latest sight plan, so I would assume that is a current rendering.

Forgot to post this last week, when I drove by on Tuesday, I think, The old school on the property had everything torn out except for the actual structural frame. After the school is down, there is only one more wharehouse that need to be demolished.

Old school! You better not be mentioning the Carr School being destroyed! It needs rehabilitation.

Wonderful rendering, but I miss the broken glass like angles. However, these buildings look like they may stand the test of time better and trees on top is always welcomed (sky gardens!). Now how do they create glass with such neat colors as the renderings show and not just the usual window panes? I liked the teal mixed with yellow and red>maybe those are the dominant interior colors with the light being yellow.

I think the Carr School is safe - it's several blocks west of the Bottle District. Someone should really fix up that building. It is really beautiful and would be perfect for housing.

That new rendering is really very nice looking. I take its what looking North from Carr?

After driving around the area over thanksgiving, i can only hope the residents to the west are being included in the process, otherwise things could turn out bad.

Too plain for my tastes, but I will settle for just getting it started at this point LOL.

I don't really like that rendering for one reason, they've completely changed the Liebeskind design of the towers, and frankly they're a little bland.

I personally liked the new edge style of the buildings in the original renderings. I wanted them to mix up the design to make it more open and street friendly, but can't they keep the towers, like SMS said, in line with the broken glass look?

It does look good though.

I think the skyscrapers have gone too conservative. I liked the daring designs of Libeskind. Still, they're ok, but I really liked the previous building designs. I like this setup(open streets, nice grid...) more, but with the Libeskind high rises.

Well, who knows what the hell we're getting at this point.

I prefer the Libeskind towers with the more sensible grid.

What is going on? The Bottle District website has a couple of conflicting renderings and site plans.

For example here's their "bird's eye view of the site":

then they have on the same page a "site plan", which looks somewhat different:

then if you go to the Ghazi company's website, you can find ANOTHER site plan (along with the already posted rendering) at:

http://www.theghazicompany.com/future_stl.htm

Aren't they starting construction? Which plan will they follow?

They might not be as edgy as the orignal designs released a couple of months ago, but the tower farthest to the north looks like it will be whimiscal enough for my taste. Besides, at least the towers look like they will not be so much red brick. Love the stuff, but St. Louis could switch it up once and awhile.

Yeah after seeing it blown up the furthest tower looks a little edgy, but I agree about the street grid it does look better. I still prefer the old buildings though.

Im pretty sure some of those renderings might not be to full size because i've heard talk that the tallest will be 192 meters, the tallest in the St. Louis area, and they will probably be the labeskind design only taller. Oh and by the way this is my inaugural post.
