Too bad - not that my family could afford to live there.

Savoy was planning $3million condos there. I’m a residential real estate agent and while there are some condos in Clayton fetching that kind of money they are not overlooking a congested Hanley road. I just don’t feel like this was the right project at the right time.

I just don’t feel like this was the right project at the right time. I agree.  I asked in an earlier post who is renting these? SLU hospital personal? What was the proposed demographic that were going to rent these? And there are  more affordable options in that area.

^A condo project was proposed. Not rental.

Let's face it; the neighbors are never gonna allow anything to be built here.

So annoying. I wouldn't want to live in a neighborhood that hindered civic progress.

Then again, I live in Tower Grove South.

Starbucks getting priced out? Hm. I have a feeling they want something more auto oriented for that area.

What could afford higher rent there? A dispensary?

Exactly. Starbucks is about as big of a player as you’re going to see for that location. I think this has a lot more to do with their desire to shift more of their locations to drive thru models.

^ SeattleNative, can't you talk to somebody at headquarters and stop this?

Ok here is some dot connecting….

In 2019 the building was purchased for $3.85mm. The new owner of the building also owns the University Club Tower. The UCT is home to Coma Coffee Roasters and owned by the same family. Look for Coma Coffee Roasters to take over the Starbucks space.

Us Seattle sports fans aren’t exactly on speaking terms with Howard Schultz after he sold the Sonics to an owner he knew was wanting to relocate them to OKC.

I’d say a local coffee shop replacing a Starbucks is a win for that location.
