I'm still really disappointed with this one. It looks much better with the brickwork going up, but we still know it's just a big tinderbox behind that facade. Clayton is one of the few areas around St. Louis that can demand better quality from developers.
I don't mind the tinderbox (which seems like the new reality for low-rise construction for most cities), so much as the final brick choice. The rendering has a consistent brighter red brick. This has a sort of varied dull brown.
Also, for the size of the building behind the facade they probably could have gone with better materials (just the faux-stone and brick) on the street facing side.
Could still get better as they finish up though. Thanks for the update moorlander.
Copying my post from another thread. These wood-framed buildings have got to stop.
Another large-scale wood-framed building burnt down during construction, this time in Oakland, CA. This is actually their fourth fire of this type in the past year.
