According to the Business Journal this project is going to be extremely cheap:

Any activity on site for this project? Is it starting to go vertical yet or even started demo of the two story office building it's replacing?

I drive by this every day and haven't seen evidence of it yet. Maybe doing interior demo first.

I drove by yesterday. The building looks vacant and there's a backhoe out back. Nothing else but crickets.

Yep. Same old wood-frame and fiber-cement-panel crap that we're seeing everywhere these days.

Least common denominator.

I'd rather play the 1981 arcade game of the same name. Maybe in 35 years this building will be just as cool to me. Probably not though I'm guessing. They both feature lots of borrowed elements though, so who knows?

I saw a sign advertising the closing of Gay avenue tomorrow. I looked it up and found they are closing it Saturday to demo the sky bridge connecting this building to Caleres. Sounds to me like demo and site prep are on the horizon.

Good to see the long announced and much anticipated Clayton multi-family housing boom starting to ramp up.

All that's left now is part of the foundation

They are making some adjustments to the building:

"Because of a snag in electric service that requires a long concrete duct bank, the development will be shortened in length while developers plan to add two stories to the south end of the complex, making it a seven story building, which is in line with the height of the rest of the project."

^weird. Based on the photos from a month and a half ago I thought this would be much further along. Actually, it doesn't look like anything's happen since then.

It's gonna look like crap anyway. Why doesn't Clayton demand better?

The original closure of Gay Avenue in mid-November was delayed due to weather. Gay Avenue will now be closed this Saturday, December 3 from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm while a crane is erected for the Barton (Vanguard) building. Access to The Center of Clayton will be available from Topton Avenue (view map). We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
