I heard today that the display for Banker's and Dorsa is expected to open in Mid Feb. Last time I asked they were going for Jan. Disappointing if you ask me.

Display dishmlay. Displays don't even help to visualize your own unit very well as they are filled with non-standard options and are usually alot bigger than the unit they are supposed to represent, so they amount to nothing more than flashy upgrade advertisements.... It's much better to walk your own space and decided on what particular options you want for your unit IMO.

Banker's just had a corner unit become available (unit 309). Its a good unit on the northeast corner. Its selling for $288,900.
Compare the $141 per square foot with what you're seeing elsewhere. It's not a bad deal.

If I had that option, I would completely agree. But given that I've never seen the interior of the building and won't until the display is open, I'll settle for the display.
I drove by Banker's yesterday and noticed the marble facade on the ground floor has been removed and they are now starting to install the windows. It looks strange not having the marble on there. I hope they get it back up soon.

Don't you think it will look better without it once the brick has been restored?

Based on the artist's rendering, I think they're going to put the marble back up. Part of the appeal for me was the marble. It's different than just the brick front, and just looking at the new progress pics, what's underneath doesn't match the rest of the building. I guess they could fix that though. Anyway, I'm liking the new windows. I can't wait until the exterior is finished. Ok, I just can't wait until the whole building is finished and I can move in.

Good point. I wonder if the ground floor could be restored to look like this part, which was apparently never covered by the marble-looking facade:

Probably, but personally I like the dark green contrast against the lighter top. It adds a bit of character to the building that it otherwise wouldn't have. The dark green windows will do a lot for the building too.

Does anyone know what kind of retail will be in this building?

Forget the retail, I vote for a bar.
Seriously though, they haven't said anything about the retail.

I was told the original marble came from a quarry in Vermont and that quarry has been closed for years. Since there wasn't enough of the original marble left to put back up on the exterior facade, they've ordered new Brazilian marble for the exterior and may use the original marble somewhere else in the building. From the sounds of it, the facade should look great!
Jan 24 update. Very good pictures.
I'm impressed with their progress and I like how they keep their site updated regularly.

It's because I'm always asking them to come tour the building because I've never seen the inside.
Is that too much of a leap of faith as a buyer?

nothing to see here wrote:does anyone have their move-in date yet?
A friend of mine mentioned that her friends close in March. They have a second floor unit. I'm on the 5th floor and don't expect to move in until late July or August. After they frame out the units and finish plumbing and electrical on floor, they are scheduling walk throughs with everyone to double check the rough-in location. Mine should be sometime within the next month or so. I hope to have a better idea of the completion schedule by then. From what I hear they are on target for move-in dates.
Noticed yesterday that the second floor windows are now going in. Really changes the appearance of the building, even with only one floor in. The street level windows look great also.
Sterling told me via email last week the green marble is indeed going back up. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Getting really excited about moving! After going through the upgrade list last night, August seems so far away.

We picked out faucets, sinks, vanities, lights...hmmm...what else...we moved the cable and phone outlets on our plan. We picked out toilets and our master tub.
Everyone on this thread should be happy about the announcement of 600 Washington. By developing that area, it will really make the area around Bankers Lofts more central to the booming Washington Avenue corridor. Bankers is an awesome project, but St. Louis Centre was a beast of a problem, that will be turned into a huge asset for the city. I can't wait to move in, but I am even more excited to see this whole area mature over the next 2-3 years.

I totally agree. We are 100% satisfied with our decision to purchase a place at Bankers and can't wait to move in. It's really hard to wait so long!
