because my mom just went in there and dropped an additional 25 grand on upgrades. 2nd bedroom, fireplace, lighting, granite, recessed bookshelf. takes the square footage cost from about 141 to 161.

Does anyone know if these prices that I've been reading here are standard for upgrades in Pyramid buildings? I'm looking at another one of their projects. Also, does anyone who's been dealing with them have any tales to tell about their experiences, good or bad?

Pyramid is a first class organization. My buying experience at Railway Lofts was outstanding. I'm willing to share what I paid for upgrades if you would like to baseline your costs. Just send me a private email with what you were considering.

So far my experiences with Pyramid have all be very good. Working with Stirling and the rest of the staff have left me with nothing to complain about from a service prespective. The only request I have made that has gone unfilled is a chance to actually see the building and what would be my unit.

Does anyone know any information about the retail going in on the bottom floor of Banker's Lofts? I have heard mutterings of a Barnes and Noble.

And all this time we were suspecting Borders! Should anyone be surprised--Barnes and Nobles does already have a city location (CWE).

I hope this is true.

You mean SLU's bookstore for B-&-N's City location? I thought the CWE only had the great and popular indy, Left Bank Books.

I think there's a B&N somewhere in the BJC complex.

Yes, there is. That's what I was referring to. It's on Children's Place (I think that's the street name) and Euclid.

I just can't see any retailer that size going into the Banker's Commercial space. Whatever goes in is going to have to be much smaller. I would definately vote for a Cheers style small bar to fit with the Banker's theme.

Hey, I could be on to something....

First off, what a fantastic site.

We just put a reservation down this weekend. We're moving from our house in St. Louis Hills and are REALLY excited about being a part of the downtown life. 8) The people at Pyramid were really informative and can't wait to watch the progress of our building.

I was going to say...a lot of people here seem to be vacating St. Louis Hills for the less green pastures (literally speaking) of downtown. But this explains at least some of it. :D

Welcome to the forum, both of you.

St. Louis Hills housing market is really inflated at the moment. Perfect time to get out.

Does anyone know anything about the amenities at the Bankers Lofts, such as what speed the cable connections will be and what level of cable connection will be available for TV's?

The building will have T1 access for internet and will be prewired for cable, provider undecided.

Thanks much! I heard they were going with Charter Cable, but that was awhile ago and maybe they've changed their mind.

It would be easier to for me to switch to Charter, but I'm not sure I'm really excited about that. Charter's service record is not impressive to say the least and I never feel like I'm getting my money's worth. Problem is, I'm not familiar with other cable providers in the area. Who else could they get?

I think it was a choice between Charter and satellite. I've never had the latter, so can't really comment, but if it's Charter, at least all the wiring will be new which is my biggest gripe with them...offering digital but not updating the wiring to the building to really make it worthwhile.

The decision between cable and satellite has to do with availability in the downtown grid actually. I remember touring Elder Shirt and Railway with Stirling 2 years ago and he described too me how some projects have to be one of the other depending on cable availability at that particular location. If it is not avail at that particular building, then the whole building will be Satellite.
