So, what brings you here?

I started reading Skyscraperpage.com freshmen year of college back in 99. I mostly read the posts about STL and never really posted. I got excited about the city and wanted to know more and more. Finally after STL-Rising, SSP etc, I ended up here which is my favorite website on the net. After seeing all of the progress I am more excited now than ever about ST. Louis.

What part of the STL are you from? Originally from Columbia IL Metro East. (Columbia High School)

How old are you? 25

What do you do, or study?

I did my undergraduate work at Illinois State and then transferred to U of Illinois where I studied Pre-chiro/med. While I was at U of I, I used some of my electives in the Urban Planning department because it seemed interesting, but in the end as a career it was not for me, so I stuck with healthcare. After My B.S., I ended up here in Iowa where I am completing my D.C., Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic, I graduate next year and will be heading back to the Lou to one day open an integrated healthcare practice, Chiropractic/Physical Therapy/Massage in the loft district to serve the residents and downtown workers. 2006 can?t get here soon enough...

Southslider, thank you for being both so open-minded and quick to judge.

Perhaps rammer meant his comment because he has been bashed elswhere on this board for being from MICDS without mentioning what HS he went to and therefore felt no need to reiterate what many already knew. Thanks again, remember when you assume: you make an *ss out of you and me.

Citylover,

When you're ready...I'll help you move*! :D

disclaimer: this offer is only good for a limited amount of work for 'trent', as he absolutely hates moving, but will make a slight concession to add to the citys population

This is a great thread. I enjoyed reading about who visits this site.

So, what brings you here?

I started lurking the St. Louis Rising website back in 2003 while looking for a new development resource for St. Louis. The newspapers only carry so much and they don't use a lot of picture. Living in Minneapolis this has become my main source of all information regarding the city and I have everybody on this website to thank for keeping me updated on whats happening back home.

What part of the STL are you from?

I grew up in the Southhampton neighborhood next to Imo's and Del Pietro's which I frequented often growing up. Now when I go home I go to Pueblo Solis a lot. I spent many hours of my childhood playing ball at Frances Park.

How old are you? 24

What do you do, or study?

I graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul in May 04 with a degree in Real Estate Studies. That led me to work for a very large real estate development company based in Minneapolis called Opus. Some of you might have heard of them. I work in the commercial property management department keeping owners and renters happy. I still hope to return to St. Louis someday, but not anytime soon. There are just too many places I have yet to see before I can settle in one place. In the mean time I just keep spreading the good news about St. Louis and its rich architectural and cultural heritage.

So, what brings you here?

I moved back to St. Louis (from Chicago) in May 2002. I'd been away from STL for 10 years (including college) and decided to try it out in my late 20's years. I went solo to a downtown loft tour that summer or fall. I still remember some woman at one of the booths tell me, "Be cool. Move downtown." After a few years, I signed on with a loft at 2020 Washington, where I eventually moved in during March 04. As I started to track the downtown news and rumors, I somehow found this site. It's been a valuable and fun resource.

What part of the STL are you from?

I grew up in Glendale (by Kirkwood), where my parents still live.

How old are you?

Speaking of the Creative Class - I met Richard Florida earlier this year and have read his latest book, "The Flight of the Creative Class."

I was led here by the prior website that merged with this one...I think it was Built St. Louis?

Homeowner in Soulard. I moved to St. Louis in 1989.

Old enough to know better. I graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1986 with a B.A. in music and cultural anthropology. Grad school at MU in 1988 with a M.S. in community and economic development with an emphasis on international.

I work in development banking and have been in my current position for nearly 10 years.

I'm a confessed and reformed Republican (the old Republican party) after working for Ashcroft. I had a Saul of Tarsus experience at a Clinton/Gore rally in downtown St. Louis in '92 I think. The entire office staff went to the rally and I think we all saw the light that day.

Graduated from H.S. in Independence, MO -- William Chrisman H.S.

Grew up in Des Peres. Moved to the city in 1995. Lived in a few apartments and eventually a condo in DeBaliviere Place. Recently moved to the North Hampton neighborhood. Just got engaged, and we'll probably live there for a while. We're considering sinking some money into the house - fixing up the kitchen, converting the attic to a master suite, etc.

How old are you?

29. I hit the big 3-0 next month.

What do you do, or study?

My degree is in Communication, and I went back to get my MBA at night. I currently work as a writer in the advertising department of a local company. Would like to do more freelance work and eventually be my own boss.

I found this site a few months ago while searching for some St. Louis pictures. It was a very lucky find!

Well my name is Bryan, I am 16 (and after scanning through everyone's post, I may be the youngest here).

Born in Ballwin, moved out to O'Fallon (MO) about 13 years ago.

I currently don't have a job, but should get the typical teenage job at a movie theatre or car wash pretty soon.

I go to Ft. Zumwalt West High, in my sophomore year.

Hello everyone, I found this site while googling St Louis and fell in love with the beautiful period architecture and modern American look. I may not have anything or much to contribute (in terms of photos), but I will definitely visit this site from time to time to view the faboulous buildings and to learn more about the people and culture of Saint Louis.

Bye now and greetings from Vancouver.
