Parking lot bigger than the building.

Drive thru bank slip is where they ended up?

Remind me of the US bank drive thru downtown StL at Olive/Tucker. That parcel drives me insane, such a waste

Looks like this was supposed to be on the upcoming planning commission meeting but was struck from the agenda.

I have a feeling this might get rejected. Too prime of real estate for something that low of tax producing and uninspiring. Mostly a private parking lot

But if it's rejected, we'll never to get enjoy the "plaza [that] has been intentionally designed as a strategic anchor for district activity."

Think of all the "pop ups, seasonal installations, small markets, arts events, music, wellness programming, and family oriented activities" that we'll miss out on!!!

"The plaza provides a continuous, outward facing public amenity that generates predictable daily activity exceeding the outcomes of traditional retail frontage."

That plaza is pretty pathetic. I suspect the only programming it will have is the occasional Jehovah's Witness and maybe a couple booths during the Clayton Art Fair

A revised proposal  is on the city's pending applications page. A retail space was added on Bemiston. The garage was replaced with a parking lot.

Sterling could get get building signage and naming rights to a building downtown but instead they do this lol.

I don't think Clayton should approve this. I don't see how one could justify tearing down what's there right now for what they're proposing.

I wish Sterling would move their headquarters here and do a bigger project. And push that building to the corner please.

^This is still a horrible little waste of space. There really should be laws that prevent demolition by neglect in projects like this.

The planning commission continued this project last night after about 45 minutes of discussion. The future meeting date is TBD pending revisions. The discussion centered around the site's low density and lack of compliance with retail design requirements. The project reps emphasized the lack of interest from other parties in developing the site.
