Yikes, how telling was that debacle on TNF last night? A win is a win, but somehow we made Tampa look competitive.

It's hard to tell with the NFL and teams often have Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde weeks back to back. Maybe the Rams really beat the hell out of the Bucs and they weren't ready on a shortened week?

Here's to hoping the Rams defense contains Murray, forces Romo to make bad decisions, and the Rams offense can get into the end zone.

We can only hope that (if he plays) Tony Romo of week 1 shows up.

I want to say they engineered the roof to take a snow around what we experienced in 1982.

Some reports are saying that Stan is looking around the airport....

makes sense- air access, metro link, and highway and st.charles $

that land is up for grabs...we already know that Berkley will annex Kinloch in 2016..and the county is putting a lot of money at the intersection in yellow.

In the North Park thread a couple of us have talked about the area bordered by 170/70/Natural Bridge/Hanley Rd.

If Kroenke is also interested in having a Patriots style retail node as part of the project, do potential areas around the airport have enough room to accommodate? I do think this would be an intriguing option up there and potentially put Saint Louis City taxpayers off the hook. However, my preferred areas if not at the present site (or Bottle District) would either be across the Mississippi, across Busch Stadium or in Pruitt-Igoe. Maybe north Laclede's Landing if a sensitive plan could be implemented.

While I know that stadium are about the last thing to fix social ills: it does project a nice positive image for North County.

But the Krafts got very lucky with Patriot Place as the area was underserved by retail and they hit the real estate boom at the exact right time. That was a 1 in a 1000 shot.

Illinois wouldn't spend the money to build a tennis court.

What do you mean by across Busch Stadium? The lot between 40/64 and Purina?

^Like legit reports, or just idle speculation? We have a lot of the latter. If they are knowledgeable sources that is really encouraging, since that would be a sign he is looking to stay in the region even if the location is up for grabs.

I think there is a good chance he'll choose somewhere around the I170,I70 intersection. IMHO the best spot in that area is the location mentioned SE of the I70/I170 because of it ties in to the current routing for metrolink, there are opportunities to tie in Natural bridge/I170 into a larger development, and he could open up the parking on non event days for commuters and cards games with retail and entertainment ammenities for those who use the lots. Also employees of Emerson, ExpressScripts, Boeing, and UMSL as well as students, could become regular patrons. Also there are only 3 or 4 owners with one being a horse ranch and the big lot and most of the empty lots to the east appear to be owned by the city of St. Louis according to the county website. Having few property owner makes aquisition of land alot smoother.

If you were going to plop a Patriot Place-"esque" development somewhere in the region, this would be my first choice.

This forum is the only place I've heard of NorthPark talk. Nobody has mentioned it on the radio or social media.

I like your SE 170/70 corner idea for all the reasons you listed. Plus if he wanted to take all the houses east to Hanley he wouldn't have to spend a lot.

The Fenton Chrysler spot just scares the hell out of me access-wise and Riverport/Mills area is too far out there.

My master plan is for the entire area b/w the elevated section to Chouteau & Tucker and 7th Streets. Its a combination of stadium, Chouteau's Greenway and mixed-use residential/office/retail. It involves some engineering derring-do and moving most of Nestle-Purina across I-64 into the downtown core so it might not be realistic!

Actually, if you solved the rail issue you just might be able to squeeze in a modern stadium in the width b/w 64 and Purina if you take the surface lots behind Purina, but I'm looking for an excuse to move them downtown downtown and not downtown-ish and make for a nicer transition b/w downtown and Lafayette Square.

I'm not sure how legit this source is and if this is just another land prospecting adventure for Kroenke's company, but Doug Vaughn from Ch. 4 / CBSsports Radio, is reporting a source saying that Kroenke's group was looking at land north of the airport. That is about as bad a spot as Inglewood would be in LA.

I think if he's looking at a place to build a stadium, it'll be outside the City for sure.

Stan is going to want to build a development with restaurant, bars, retail, movie theater, maybe a hotel... and he's going to want to put it close to people with disposable money. This is how he's made his billions.

Saddled kind of in between St. Charles and West St. Louis County (perhaps the two areas most densely populated by people with disposable income) is North County, near the airport.

Kinda makes sense.

Having said that, let's all not forget that Kroenke is a real-estate developer, and he could be looking at land for any number of reasons.

Didn't they want to build a WalMart along North Lindbergh and got turned down? Might just be another swing at that.

Same difference. In both cases he wants a ton of land and a bunch of TIF/free money to build something.

Kinloch's proximity to UMSL intrigues me..

*dream*

UMSL joins the Missouri Valley Football Conference (hq'd in St. Louis).

UMSL builds its own stadium on campus. (25k seats).

MVFC strikes a deal with YouTube to stream games live, or goes back to ESPN3 for more money.

Rams' stadium becomes neutral territory for "MVFC Saturday Night Football". Giving Stan another tenant and giving MVFC a nice shiny stadium to build its conference on.

*/dream*

MVFC is sort of moving in the right direction with games at Busch but I think getting in on Stan's new stadium is a must.

While I'd prefer a downtown-oriented stadium, Kinloch, MVFC-SNF, visiting undergrads and UMSL students could allow Stan to build a tourist-trap college town.

UMSL can take Missouri States spot in the MVC, bears just put in $15m into their football stadium, believed to be a precursor to joining the Sun Belt...it would be a step down in basketball but this is about football and $

The hotel rooms are downtown. If he wants to attract things like a Super Bowl, best bet is there.

Another article saying the Rams are history. Hope butts in seats don't play a role.... I don't think so, but I will say this. The Dome had a ton of empty red seats yesterday. It looked full in the lower bowl, but I do know the Cowboys travel well.
