^ There's a lot of flights across 3 different airlines between STL and ORD/MDW so maybe that's a contributor?

I am surprised by the low load factors on the feeder airports that WN uses to connect thru STL, like LIT/DSM and ICT. Hope they don't trim any of that back.

Shocked by the MDW number.
It’s been bad all year

Must still be profitable at those load factors.  Short flight making this possible, I assume.  Otherwise, I'd expect frequency reductions in the near future.

I see AA quietly got rid of the 2 daily non-stop STL-AUS flights. Too bad as I prefer to fly that over WN, though WN has a better non-stop schedule.

Looks like we're getting daily Southwest service to Burbank, Hilton Head, and Norfolk in June 2024. As much as I prefer flying the legacies, Southwest is making it hard to not use them instead.

For clarification Norfolk and Savannah are Saturday only.

I haven’t looked thru the entire schedule but other notable changes.

Seattle back to daily
Cancun double daily
Portland sat and sun

They also are starting to sell overnight layovers. Was looking at Hawaii to Stl flights and offered me an overnight in Oakland.

Just landed for the first time on 29.

Anyone know what happened? We were lined up on 30R and circled back and landed on 29.

At night it's neat as you get a great view of the terminal if landed from the east

AA just cut 21 routes from Austin. Big loss for that airport. I think AA went gung-ho on AUS a few years ago and tried to create a reliever airport for DFW ... but it didn't work the way they imagined. This may be good news for STL on the otherhand, possibly, in the future, if AA feels they need to expand service between their DFW and ORD hubs. With STL's AA history, infrastructure and Admirals Club, it helps. AA originally was to use STL as a reliever to ORD before 9/11 ensued.
Well, all speculation on my part but not out of the possibilities.

Will the Admirals Club remain in the new airport once it's built?

^ It's hard to say this far out but the preliminary renderings and site plans do show that particular part of the existing terminal still being there after the reno, so it's possible. Would that area still be post security though?

While we’re ghoulishly poaching on Austin in our minds, rumor has it Virgin Atlantic is dropping their AUS-LHR route. It’d be nice if they moved it to STL. (I know, STL lacks the ‘hip’ factor VS favors)

Flew the LH route back to STL yesterday.  Packed with KC folks who went to Frankfurt for the Chiefs game. I was surprised. I would have thought that KC to ATL/CLT/JFK would have been a better option but perhaps SWA to/from STL and jumping on LH was better? Wished i had asked.

Yeah, curious about that as Virgin’s website still touts AUS to LHR nonstops flights and route still appears on flight connections.

Routes being flown for a few more months but there is an established end date in January 2024

I hadn’t seen this drawing yet. Apparently will have 3 widebody gates.

^Interesting drawing. It appears to show new ramps connecting the new terminal traffic loop with the existing ramps from 70W and 170, which is interesting. I thought I was losing my preferred exit. Maybe not. It also makes it look as though the existing Admiral's club will fall victim to the expansion, since the footprint of the club is more or less entirely in the black crosshatched area. There's an awfully big piece of "non-aeronautical development" on the east end of the terminal, overlapping with the stub end of D where the Metrolink station goes in, quite near the current club, but I wonder if that's offices. You usually want a nice view of the field from the club, and the new concourse would probably block that. Would be easier to put a new club in the concourse. Maybe one at each end, like Detroit, and perhaps a smaller one in the middle. (Say, Admirals at one end, SkyClub at the other, and a pay as you go in the middle?) We will see what happens.

Looks like D is staying.  Really think T2 is going to be a consolidated rental car facility.
