Thanks. Last time a list like this was posted it included HNL and OGG. Time is precious, so is family (or your substitute). If you get a chance, do what is the best use of your time..

Has anyone heard any rumors or foresee any possibility of STL getting a non-stop to Panama City, Panama? Did we ever have a non-stop to Panama?
It's difficult and pricey to get to any South American cities from the Midwest. If you could at least get a non-stop to Panama it would be a lot easier to move on to Buenos, Santiago, Caracas or wherever you might be headed. Maybe STL could position itself as some sort of Gateway to South America in the Midwest that isn't Chicago. Just spitballin' here.

Ahh, I was checking Google flights which doesn't list SW. Great news! Thanks!
Wait wait. I'm talking Panama the country. As in Panama Canal. As in Central America. Not Florida. Yeah I don't think SW has one to Panama, the country (with a ridiculously insane skyline btw).

But again, the SW flight listed by dweebe will get you to Panama City, FL (where, admittedly, you'd thrive), but you're trying to get to Panama City, Panama, which is not the same.leeharveyawesome wrote: ↑Apr 25, 2022Ahh, I was checking Google flights which doesn't list SW. Great news! Thanks!

What a cheap shot! I was thinking about working from Panama the country/South America for month or so. Florida panhandle not my style.Bart Harley Jarvis wrote: ↑Apr 25, 2022But again, the SW flight listed by jshank will get you to Panama City, FL (where, admittedly, you'd thrive), but you're trying to get to Panama City, Panama, which is not the same.leeharveyawesome wrote: ↑Apr 25, 2022Ahh, I was checking Google flights which doesn't list SW. Bart - please work on your insecurities and low self esteem. Don't do it for me, do it for yourself. Please.
I am dumb.
Wouldn't STL-Panama City Panama be a real oddball for them? Looking at their site the US destinations are all the usual suspects. LAX, DFW, DEN, MIA JFK etc.

Hawaii puts out the number so that made it easy. I listed HNL and total Hawaii.shadrach wrote: ↑Apr 25, 2022Thanks. Last time a list like this was posted it included HNL and OGG. Time is precious, so is family (or your substitute). If you get a chance, do what is the best use of your time..
I am going to preface this by saying the other way that is more time consuming apparently has STL-Hawaii 3rd qtr 2021 as 128 a day, this is more at 100. So I am not sure of the disconnect. Also, because Southwest has issues making connections work, I know some people self connect that wouldn't show up. I went last year and both times I spent a couple days on oakland on either end. I saw people on my flight home from oak that had obviously come back and spent a night in an airport hotel after coming from hawaii the day before. So I am guessing our numbers are higher than what this shows. How much? not sure.

2022 XXXX by CBSA
It lists out like 50 metros to Hawaii and their passenger numbers. You can do it by individual island also.
They had thru Feb so I just did the last 12 months. Note the year at the top. Guessing March-May were still suppressed do to covid, really probably about everything little still but it gives you an idea.
Once the A321XLRs come online for Hawaiian I would think a couple times a week flight would be doable. Especially in summer. Maybe split us and KC or Nashville, 3 a week.

Thanks for that, really appreciate it. I spent time looking at all it for 2022, comparing STL number to similar numbers of other metros them going to flightconnections.com
Metros with slightly higher numbers (Philadelphia, Austin) don’t have nonstop flights. The only metro with nonstop closest to our latest monthly number is Detroit. @3600 vs @2900
still praying for a nonstop someday…

Austin does have nonstop. I think its 3x a week. Started last year on Hawaiianshadrach wrote: ↑Apr 25, 2022Thanks for that, really appreciate it. I spent time looking at all it for 2022, comparing STL number to similar numbers of other metros them going to flightconnections.com

Looking at going to Boston 2 months from now. Southwest non-stops are full except for the one that lands at 1 AM. The 1-stop flights are more expensive than American non-stops. So switching to American Airlines for this flight.mikenewell48 wrote: ↑Apr 27, 2022Southwest cut thousands of flights from its June schedule. Here's what happened at Lambert.

Inaugural outbound LH flight is sold out. (you can still buy tickets so maybe they meant expected to be sold out?)
Inbound is booked to 170, which is much higher than I expected.
Said that STL is one of the better booking stations so far.
April checkpoint numbers were 89% of 2019. Spring breakers in March gave way to business travelers in April

The reddit comments on concourse consolidation are just painful. The longest rant on there is just talking about traffic lanes.
Kind of hoping the public input on this is just for show. Between this and KC's airport process, the general public doesn't even have a basic understanding of how customers use an airport.

^How many of us really study how other people use airports? I know how I use it pretty well, but that's about the limit of it. I'll have to go read the Reddit comments. Somehow I missed that particular dumpster fire. Do you have popcorn? Back later.

What's everyone's favorite/coolest airport? No runner-ups and close seconds talk. Pick one.
I'm going with Madrid.
I'm going with Madrid.
My favorite is Atlanta. I like how busy it is and like the underground train they have. It's also clean whenever I go. When landing a certain way, it's also neat to see the skyline in the distance.leeharveyawesome wrote: ↑May 05, 2022What's everyone's favorite/coolest airport? No runner-ups and close seconds talk. Worst airport I've been to has to be Miami. I like the city, but the airport feels dated, check-in hall is dark, and there's a whole lot of aluminum on the walls in there. Not to mention that the humidity level in there the past times I've been there felt extremely high. Oh, and not an airport issue, but the American Airlines staff there was the rudest of any of the airlines I've been on. The men and women at the desk, gate attendant, and flight attendants were all pissy and just seemed to hate what they were doing.
Made it out to the open house tonight. I ended up leaving early because the presentation was basically the same thing I already watched when it was given to the airport commission. I thought it was good and it was tailored more to those who aren't as familiar with the airport.
The early session apparently had a decent sized crowd and most if not all comments were positive. So that was good to hear.
