Indeed, what a game. Solid performance. I don't think this team could get much more unpredictable. I love it.

I like that 2009 date for the All-Star game looming over the head of all involved in the BPV..even more incentive to get this going and do it right.

^ Why pitchout? Why? Why let Looper focus on something other than the matter at hand, getting the 3rd out?

Because you don't trust him to get it, and if he gets his head out of his ass and makes a Proper pitch out (hard andgut/chest high) instead of lobbing on at Molina's head then the runner would have been gassed. Instead, he botches even this, the most routine of pitching plays.

Tony made the right call. Looper choked. THen choked again as he gave up what tony was trying to avoid by getting the runner-a 2 RBI base hit.

Molina is not faultless in that botched play. Any catcher (no less the one with the best % of runners thrown out) should be able to put the ball where it needs to go in a pitch out. A good throw and he was pegged.

We lost the game because we missed so many opportunities. At this level, the NLCS, we load the bases in the first inning, and don't score? That was so weak. We let them off the hook and paid for it in the end.

Even Tim "Master of the Obvious" McCarver said- "Wow, Looper really took his time getting that there. He needs to change his delivery on a pitch out, get it there faster. And in a better location for his cathcer..."

Molina didn't get to load the cannon like normal because his arm was already extended catching the ball.

^ Great picture! Great game! And what a great series for Molina!

I was glad to see that Suppan was named NLCS MVP as well.

I feel like a kid on Christmas morning, because I only got about three hours of sleep and I don't feel tired at all!

Detroit will pose one hell of a challenge, no question about it. So I'll say again what I was thinking in the previous series: It's great to be the underdog.

GO CARDINALS!

I was wondering if anyone had any luck with World Series tickets this morning. I was stuck in the virtual waiting room for 21 minutes only to be told that the games were sold out. I also know several people in my office that tried to get tickets and no one was successful, I think that the cardinals and MLB really need to look into a new way to distribute tickets to people that actually will go to the game instead of allowing the ticket brokers and eBay sellers the ability to buy tickets and make an insane profit.

Or 1 run and 16 straight outs in an official game stopped by inclement weather. ;)
