Looks great, but to me it's just another fancy place I can't afford. We all know the "mid-200s" unit will be a 1-bedroom, on a low level, and on a side that has no view.

I guess they shouldn't build it because Tysalpha can't afford it!
I think it's more of a screen of some sort around the garage rather than glass, but I could be wrong. This night picture just blew my pants off.
It would be cool if there were some type of quality media screens around the base or some kind of moving media art, ligthing. Something so outside the box it will make people stop and stare. Take for example, the Park East, I love the tower, but I think they totally failed with the base- hidden garage.

Im impressed more and more by this project. Have we had any project downtown recently that was so hyped and advertized? I dont think so. This just made my thursday night.
I said it once already, but (according to the illustrations) I think this is a very attractive structure and I'm looking forward to seeing completed.

Can we get a smiley that plays the violin?

Jeez. I wasn't saying don't build it.

^ I did RSVP, but am not sure that I'll be there. By the way, anyone want to send an RSVP link to the Roberts Bros?
Seriously though, I don't know enough to know how long this project has been in the works, but the timing of announcements, etc. has been very professional. And maybe they just get things done much more quickly as well. Perception counts for a lot and when you conceive of a big project, then announce it, then release rendering, then plan an open house for a year later and then break ground it's easy for people to lose faith. On the other hand, why not conceive a project, order rendering, prepare for an open house, put things in place to break ground and THEN announce the project - everyone will be blown away at how fast you move! It all leads me to conclude that some developers in town do not have the financial resources to complete their announced buildings.
Beautiful building. Not sure if I want to be teased by attending the party.
I signed up and may go. Food and drink? Couple block walk from me? I'm there if I remember.trent wrote:I RSVP'd, is anyone else going?

has anyone seen floorplans or pricing info yet ? if so where did you find it please ? thanks.
I would guess that they are waiting for their party on the 16th to unveil all the info.
Otherwise, what's the point of being a VIP?

Dang, forgot all about this one. Prices? Turn out? Timelines??????

I went early, around 6:30 or so, and it was relatively packed. Floors 5-18 will be condos. 19 will have Condos and the pool, dog walk, green area. Then I think there are three or four more floors of Penthouses. A lot of the Penthouses had been "Held." As they had a big board up with magnets on units that weren't available. Brochure really really stressed the green building idea. Forgot brochure at home, but I'm not sure if it really mentioned timelines, etc. Nothing under 300K I don't believe. Smallest units around 960 sq. ft.

I talked to them about a few things.
They need 40% to start construction and according to the board and the rep I talked to they are halfway there with the ones that are "held". The process is 2500.00 down and then you go to contract in 7 days. At that point 5% is put down with the rest due at closing.
She said once they start construction they will hopefully use 2 cranes to build the tower and it should take 18 months.
I askd her what type of retail they were going for. On th brochure there is a generic sign about an organic grocer and on the lcd tv's I saw clothing stores like BCBG etc. When I asked her, she said nothing is finalized but they have talked to Trader Joes and they are interested.
Overall the tower looks awesome and when it is built it will really change downtown living and could be the start of something really big.

I get the feeling that every developer is going to tell people that Trader Joe's/Whole Foods is "interested" up until we actually get one of those stores downtown.
I was set to go, and fell asleep.
It's been a bit of a long week...not bad, just exhausting. Its too bad, I was looking forward to going.
Is the sales center open yet?

I agree with the comment about trader joes, but one thing is for sure it will happen. There is simply too much development going on for these types to not jump in the market.
It does not bother me either way. It would be nice to have a grocery close to Ely.

I ditto that it will happen as well, but it won't happen at this location.

Instead of having 2 grocers in the same block, I think DT would be much better served having one in OPO square and one west of tucker...
