What's the review? I hope it went well...
The review is here: http://www.riverfronttimes.com/2007-10- ... ork-in-it/

Seems complicated and too prone to error given the investment, although I'd like to give it a shot sometime.

Is this RFT guy an actual food critic? I blows my mind that he's complaining about all the options and the "hard work". That's part of the fun! Duh! Sounds like he'd be more at home at Appleby's and TGI Fridays!

Maybe the choices are overwhelming for people who haven't ever had fondue (which is probably a lot of people). Maybe Simply Fondue should have 5 or 6 "most popular" combos?

Anyway Simply Fondue sounds like a nice addition to the downtown dining scene! I'd love to try this place next time I'm in town. Just for comparison's sake, fondue is really popular in NY, and $40 for 4 course dinner for 2 is extremely reasonable. You could easily find yourself paying double that here - check it out: http://www.menupages.com/restaurantDeta ... antId=4696

212,

Just to clarify, the $40 price is per person, for a dinner for two. So it's $80. I don't want to mislead anyone in thinking that its less.

Also, had quite a nice mini-forum meet of sorts on Friday, as innov8ion stopped in. It was great to meet you, and I hope you got your cell phone back. ;) Also, mt2bone and amyh1028 stopped in (again, i think amy is addicted to our martinis). We had a good time.

It was good to meet you too as well, Trent. My date and I had an enjoyable experience and the food was tasty. Note, it was our 3rd date (not the first, ha)! I got my phone back, thanks. I placed it on the chair next to me and forgot to pick it back up. It was kinda funny because when I checked urbanstl.com, I found I had two private messages that I had left my cell phone at the restaurant. One from Dave of Simply Fondue, and the other from mt2bone. Thanks for lookin out for a brother!

Yup I am totally addicted! I really like the Skittles martini. I highly recomend that one. With the happy hour special I can now afford to have an extra one. Perhaps sometime we will actually make it past the bar. Oh and Dave thanks for whatever that blue stuff was...it was not my drink of choice but thanks just the same.

There is also enough food that comes with that price to feed an army. Portions are HUGE.

^ I'll second that observation- the portions are ginormous. You definitely get what you pay for, in terms of food and the overall experience. 8)

Hey, no problem. I know what it's like to forget my cell phone. Not knowing where it is would be even worse. I was glad to help out.

I have lost count of the movie references that have popped up on the Simply Fondue Thread in the last year. (Office Space, Revenge of the Nerds...any others?) I'm thinking we should have movie night at Simply Fondue!

BTW...

Thank you to all of you for your suppport! It's been great meeting you down here. I haven't been able to post as often lately, but I do check in as often as I can and to see what's really going on in the city!

Since you have all been so supportive, if you print this page out and bring it in by 11/15/07, I'll give you 10% off your experience if it is a Friday or Saturday and 20% off if it is Sunday-Thursday. (You don't have to print out all of the pages, just the one with this post on it! Save a tree!)

See you soon!

(Hope I didn't break any forum rules by posting this offer. Didn't mean to if I did!)

Dave

You kind of did, but I think we all can appreciate the offer and look the other way. It's an offer that benefits the forum, not just advertising.

I had a buddy who went there. Nice small college in a small town. Kinda good as it makes you focus on school.

Very very Greek campus. Most students are in frat/sorority.

One downer: Former Vice President Quayle went to school there.

They have a wall of CEOs and other VIPs in their admissions office, but I guess I missed it 'cause he spelt his name "Quayl" when he was in college.
