Would be great fit for BPV. Wish we had more buildings and potential spaces for them to fill. Lots of parking lots to still develop around Busch to liven the area up

I'm surprised that any KISS-themed bar survived into the 21st Century.

Tons of good restaurant news for downtown this week. Now we just need Syberg's back in a good location.

Syberg's should go into the Edison Brothers building that they are renovating into the new hotel - Where Jacques was across from Enterprise - It would kill on game days

As of April, they didn't have a restaurant tenant for one of the spaces, so maybe. But I also don't know what the parking situation is there and the renovation is expected to take another year. I get the feeling theyd want somewhere with easy parking, like the current location. But I don't actually know.

Sucks but the Hampton location has so much competition all around it, especially cheaper and comparatively good BBQ.

I expect their South County location is next to close. Each time I’ve been by it going to that Costco, lunch or dinner time, the parking lot’s empty. And the one time my family and I went, they didn’t have half the meats they had on their menu. I feel like they’ll be the next case of “expanded too fast”. Quality makes or breaks bbq and in a part of the country where bbq is an art, you can’t forget that quality.

Ellisville and South County should have never happened. Hampton probably could have stayed open had they not wasted money in those two terrible locations. But the suburbs are seen as auto wins while locations in places people actually want to go are not. I wonder how many more suburb expansion failures need to happen before they realise the suburbs are not as automatic as they think they are.

I still don't understand the popularity of Salt + Smoke.  Eaten there twice and both times have capped out as "fine"

It’s my favorite bbq place in town. It’s usually the only place I’ll order brisket anymore.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried Gastropit on Southwest? We get their smoked Turkey for the holidays, and it's become a family favorite. I keep meaning to give them a try on . . . oh . . . more traditional barbecue holidays than Thanksgiving.

I don't like Salt+ Smoke either, I prefer Sugarfire and Pappy's

If you like Pappys also try Adams Rib and Dallies.
(Yes I know Dallies is outside the 270 loop and in a suburban strip shopping plaza. But their stuff really is good.)

Dalies is very good, I’ll second that notion. I like S&S a lot. I’ve taken customers, prospects and industry friends to the downtown location and all rave.

Pappys is over hyped, but still good. Sugarfire is high up there on the pantheon.

We had Adam’s last night for the first time. Ribs were the standout, although I prefer Pappy’s. We also had smoked turkey and pulled pork; I have had better elsewhere. Would return for the ribs.

Adam's, Dallie's, and Bogarts are all offshoots of the Pappy's tree.

Dua Café, a new mediterranean cafe run by an Albanian family, is opening tomorrow at Maryland and Taylor: https://www.dua-cafe.com/

Wishing them luck on being the 1st restaurant to lift the curse on that space.

Whataburger moved in parts of South Carolina just two years ago and is already spinning down stores after that less than 24 months timeframe.

Something tells me that we'll never see them here: and that doesn't hurt my feelings at all.

Chris' Pancake House is going in at the old TGI Friday's at Ronnies Plaza on Lindbergh.

Not sure if this has been posted yet.
