Is Vino Gallery on McPherson really closed?

Google maps is showing it permanently out of commission.

It looks like it, I passed by the other day and there was a notice on the door about the landlord changing the locks. All the sidewalk furniture was still there though...

Drake's in Richmond Heights has closed, no reason given. They now only have 2 locations in the metro area, O'Fallon, MO and Shiloh, IL.

As a non sushi fan, there menu was mediocre for me.  A friend of mine loved it there.

Only went there twice, but it always seemed pretty busy. Kind of surprised it threw in the towel so quickly.

Sushi? I thought it was BBQ.

Maybe we've pinpointed one of their problems...

I passed by this place multiple times a week without any idea of what the hell it actually was.  Either it needed a lower third signage addition or I'm just not hip.  Felt like a chain and not worth a Google, thusly, never went.

I wondered who was going in there. Another location or are they moving from The Grove?

And am I imagining things or did I see a liquor permit request placard on the door?

I think it’s another location, but not sure.

I heard they have a temp liquor license.

My kids loved it and when they first came to the area it was a decent value.  Then came big price increases and portion reductions.  Haven't been back since.

The old auto service station (at least I think that's what it was) at Olive and Newstead has been transformed into a new concept café and music venue called Noteworthy. The masterminds behind this project are Joe Jackson and his wife Morgan Cameron, also owners of Jackson Pianos down the street. I had the privilege to see the venue and practice on the grand piano while it was still under renovation back in May, and it's so exciting to see everything coming together.

They're hosting a "Sounds of St. Louis" event on September 6 which will feature many great artists and activities (see photos attached). This will also be their soft opening. Among the featured artists, I can personally vouch for Ethan Leinwand & Miss Jubilee, who are amazing proponents of barrelhouse piano and late ragtime/early jazz songs, as well as Dave Majchrzak who is a powerhouse ragtime pianist. I know all three artists from the Scott Joplin Festival over in Sedalia. If you are able (and have interest in this sort of thing), please support this new business. I unfortunately won't be able to make it on Sept. 6 for geographical reasons. Joe Jackson is a great guy, and his projects are making big cultural impacts in St. Louis. I believe Noteworthy in particular will be instrumental in transforming this rather desolate intersection and for providing a cultural hub for music lovers in STL.

My thoughts exactly - was never quite sure what it was. Sure didn't last long though lol.

Downtown Maplewood's  run has gone from bad to worse.

Down the block Sando Shack was open for about two weeks and closed "temporarily" for HVAC issues.

There's plenty of other locations downtowm where they could move to. GPF should really be covering the cost of any build out.

At least it sounds like they (809) want to stay DT.

Curious situation.

Assuming GPF maybe had interest from some anchor that would see as transformative?
