No, 'twasn't about you. Several people, including me, were poking fun at a certain someone's English grammar skills.

So, you weren't being "satarized". Satyrized, perhaps...

Just so this won't be deleted...back on topic...oil prices, materials prices, and inflation in general, are very relevant to the viability of the MW Tower and the overall renaissance of downtown and the city, so perhaps someone should start a separate thread.

isn't a "satyr" a half goat half man type creature? (and I know I can neither spell nor type)

It is. It's also known for its sexual appetite. Satyriasis is the male form of nymphomania, actually. I think that was the joke.

^Well, since you asked... I don't think Dionysus was ever a satyr (I think you are thinking of Pan) but Zeus did turn him into a goat briefly to save him from Hera, and his posse did include satyrs, along with nymphs and centaurs. He was a very feminine, very horny, cross-dressing, ever-partying, bisexual man-god, also known as Bacchus.

Some other interesting names for him..."the Phallic one", Orthos "the erect", Enorches "the betesticled", Gynnis "the womanish", and Arsenothelys "the man-womanly". <-- Stolen from Geocities.

IMAO, the third name is by far the best, he really should have stuck with that one. In fact, I am seriously considering changing my name. A poll anyone?

And, why stay on topic? Its not like there is anything else to talk about in this thread...Kevin, Nat?

Maybe the MW Tower should be named the Enorches Tower.

There, conversation is now 360.

I think St. Louis can use a big, phallic skyscraper.

The tower on that rendering is far less than 71 stories. It is not even as tall as the new courthouse.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but this tower is registered on Emporis. I'm not up to speed on how a building gets registered on Emporis, whether it's through factual data or rumors, but it's on there.

^Notice that it's in their "vision" section. That's where they put the buildings that never had a chance of being built. (Let's hope they're wrong about this one)

I count something like 70 stories so that's gotta be it.

Wow, looks pretty good. That would be pretty impressive if built downtown. I sure hope it's lined up so that the narrow side faces the river. Otherwise, it will look like a huge rectangle on our skyline!

Going by this post on page 1:

Flat top, roughly rectangular floor plan, looks to be mostly dark aqua colored glass (this was probably just the rendering). It had an obvious transition between hotel - office. The hotel part was sort of a grid w/ glass layout (with different colored glass), transitioning to all glass office. The condo portion looks to be all glass as well, except the plane of the glass is broken up by the occasional vertical plane of balconies. (Those would be very windy balconies! )

It looks quite a bit like this building...

http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=196560

...with roughly the same dimensions, except the balconies obviously don't run the full height of the building, plus there was an offset glass grid on the hotel portion of the MW Tower and it didn't have the white cap thingie at the top.

I'd say that's it. jlblues, care to confirm?

One problem I have is that the base of the tower looks alot like the new pinnacle casino's base.

One problem I have is that it could single-handedly bust the downtown housing and office markets, but other than that, it's great.

I still don't quite get this argument...
