The photo makes it look the couple in the lower right are fretting about the best way to cross that vast sea of pavement that stands between them and the building.jambo wrote:

I love the shape of this building–simple and streamlined. Kind of an MCM throwback. I just wish the parking lot's footprint wasn't larger than the building's footprint.
Drove past the other day. This is shaping up to look great. Love the long, sleek, street frontage. Now if that brick building across the street on Park Ave. could get some love.
Nice write-up in the Post today. Rather odd that they didn't include a photo of the building, though.

^ Actually had a different thought when I went to the link and saw the photo's. Thought it was a nice touch focusing on the people who will be involved with the dental school. I'm just waiting for the announcement of some more housing/residential infill in the immediate area with a nice rendering with the new dental school and old hospital as the back drop.
Which got me thinking, yes downtown and the city as a whole is hurting in landing CEO's let alone getting a BPV tower out of the deal at this point but with another facility as this opening, Shiners back in the city, SLCOP expansion and the huge BJC/Wash U medical campus expansion it is establishing the city as a regionally medical powerhouse in facilities and more importantly education/training and research. Not mention that you could add the missing piece of SSM taking over Tenet's role and future and finally the much needed investment into SLU hospital as well as CORTEX/Wexford securing and clearing a US Metals site for private investment take off.
Their is some optimism to be had.
