I really loved the underside paneling they will use for the roof.
It'll be hard to beat the underside roof detailing of Busch II:

That sprawling flat roof ....
They should consider solar panels 🌞
You would assume that the return on investment in terms of reduced utilities bills over the structures life cycle would easily pay for it and therefore a no brainer.   Wonder if it is even a serious consideration from the architect/design when large structures are involved.  I assume solar panels would easily pay for themselves on the large multiple distribution warehouse built throughout the regain and the nation for that matter in building life cycle cost as well.

why does it look so unimpressive from the outside, the entire stadium does.
I recommend adding www.soccerstadiumdigest.com to your favorites to track the design and building of other MLS, USL, and other soccer specific stadiums for comparison.  Just my opinion, but the new Columbus Crew has a few design features that I prefer, but overall the STL stadium design is superior to Austin, Nashville, Sacramento, and especially Cincinnati who chose an oval vs. rectangle.

Market Street closes tomorrow so if you’re usually taking Jefferson to market to downtown you’ll need to go to Olive

Wondering why a large deep hole has been dug where the east side of the grandstand will be built.  Anyone have insight?

Services of some kind? Transformer vault, maybe? Or maybe they'll have HVAC plant they need to bury if they're planning to hook into the steam loop. Or even production, possibly. Strictly guessing. I've no inside scoop.

That's the future swimming pool and diving tank on the northeast corner of the pitch and sideline of the Supporters' Section.  🙂

Alternatively, that large hole is an attempt to resolve their 86 gallon-a-minute natural spring water issues, so as to avoid such aquatic amenities.

Stadium website launched and includes new renderings. I love how it looks. Hopefully the finished product looks just as nice, if not better. https://www.stlcitystadium.com

22nd Street VIP Entrance...

VIP Lobby...

Concourse Club...

The Premium VIP Pitch Club...

Suites...

The Loge Boxes (Pitch, West Theatre, City View Terrace, Conversation Tables)

General Admission areas...

Edit: Going back over all of this, its weird to say "22nd Street Entrance" since that doesn't presently exist. So that's a nice thing.

South of Market update - not much going on. Clark Street extension is visible. This area is on the SLDC Planroom.

I can't believe they haven't demolished this ridiculously wide, depressing mass of concrete yet. If Market Street is to reopen in mid-March, they're going to have to get crackin'...

Austin FC just announced their stadium naming rights just a couple of months before their stadium opens.  MLS seems to like having expansion teams on a schedule spacing out crest, kit sponsorships, stadium naming, etc. which means STL City SC’s stadium name most likely is a year+ away.  https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021/01/ ... ldings-inc

I looked through the architectural drawings for the training center and Pavilion. They are pretty basic - no surprises. The only detail of note is that both buildings are a full two levels.

The 22nd St. side of the training center is one story facing the parking lot, but has a full lower level, with the east side opening up right onto the practice field. There are also a couple of balconies overlooking the field on the upper level for coaching staff. It contains pretty much all the types of facilities for the team and the academy that you would imagine: fitness, therapy, analysis, theater, kitchen, dining, lounge, meeting rooms, lots of lockers, showers, coaching offices, etc. Total gross floor area is 33,000 s.f.

The Pavilion just appears to be a two level team store, and not much else, i.e. no public amenities. Total gross floor area is 10,000 s.f.

^What is most disappointing, however, is that not only is there zero space for fans to watch the activity on the practice fields, but the fencing and landscaping layout seems to be designed to discourage it.

I suspect that security at the Drury and Fairfield Inns will be spending a great deal of time chasing people away from the top level of their garages...

It has a rooftop patio. Not sure if it’s for guests only or if they have a bar up there (or you can take drinks up from the bar).

It has some kind of patio with a picture on the website. I guess it could be not on the roof. I couldn't tell by pics. Either way it looks like it overlooks Union Station somewhat.

I see what you mean. Great view, and it definitely overlooks the practice fields to some degree, but I'm fairly certain this is on the ground floor, off of the bar on the Market Street end of the hotel. No idea if it's open to the public, but the bar itself appears to be very small.

^ Looks like it could be the ground level patio or some type of patio next to intersection.    At one point the hotel had a rendering out there with a killer roof top layout.  Not sure what happen there but it would be nice if anyone truly knows what happen - got nixed on cost, hotel didn't think St. Louis wasn't going to pull off MLS (now kicking themselves) and if they made a deal with team owners (who knows, maybe a cash offer not to have a rooftop bar).

Would love if Enterprise bought up the lot between Union Station & practice fields and plop down an expansion, maybe their IT ops relocated downtown, add in a hotel.    Maybe some solid mid rise dense mixed use residential infill with great patio and deck views of the practice fields.   I think their has been a few comments on likely outcome of expanded adult/kid type entertainment bleeding over from Union Station but the more thought the more I think it would be a loss opportunity to put in some great infill.
