I enjoyed the interview and it got me excited. Where do we think the stadium site is? Does anyone have any secret info?

Someone posted on Reddit St Louis a few days back of a 'major announcement' regarding this coming soon.

^i imagine they were referring to the woodcock interview where he mentions that they will come forward sooner than later, saying that he doesn't want to tell the stl public to have "patience" since he associates that with several years of waiting. It sounds like they will come forward sooner than later but it didn't sound like very soon

As suggested on the Union Station thread it looks like some info is coming out on Soccer League stadium location west of Union Station as reported by BizJournals at end of day. I don't have access but site makes a lot of sense if state is going to throw in the money to rebuild the 22nd interchange and kill the old parkway as part of NGIA infrastructure promises

MLS2STL must be close to having an ownership group together if stadium locations are publically being put out there

I don't personally see how one has to do with the other, but I certainly hope you're right!

I think there's a reason that info is out there, and it's more a local issue than an MLS one.

Agree, but also think their is always reasons for going public with certain information. My take on it. I don't see a push for help with a stadium unless their is an ownership group able to front the money for franchise and ask for help on stadium.

Is that the team name or the name of the people trying to bring a team here?

They put it on a crest, which leads me to believe that is the name they want to use, but yeah, details were a little fuzzy.

Also, Urban Underdog has been been released for a months now, may just be new to the tap at Amsterdam.

It's the name of the owner group, according to the article. But it could catch on.

^ this group is in no way tied to the MLS2STL group....seems like now that MLS2STL group has done all the leg work this group wants to hop in to make a "sealed-bid" for the rights to bring the MLS team here....appears to be Lawrence group driven.

^that would be sorely dissapointing if they were truly cherry picking the efforts of MLS2STL, but what reason do you have to believe they are DB? and are they actually Lawrence Group backed?

Is the LG also behind the refurb of the foundry site with the proposed food hub/market?

I don't know what or who the Foundry is or why they're asking what what they're asking.
Feels like it's muddying the waters. Or could really backfire.

Maybe not LG driven but Bull Moose driven - European behind Bull Moose that are the major investors/backers of Lawrence Group's Federal Mogul site.

Can understand your point but MLS2STL never claimed to be an ownership group and as the moniker states, trying to bring MLS to STL. They should back any legitimate offer because they haven't presented themselves any different or declared their efforts for a specific ownership group. So I feel no sympathy for your comment and say bring on the competition or its time fro the backers behind MLS2STL to name an ownership group.

I guess more will be revealed - but it is pretty late in the game to be introducing a alternate contender, and unless someone in the group has a high nine digit bank account, the point is moot.

The 93 NFL expansion had 2 different StL groups due to a lease issue that doomed the effort (and eventually brought Stan into the mix as the deep pockets guy), well along with Art Modell, and creative accounting coming from the Jacksonville group.

PostSep 04, 2016#299

Soccer Stadium Digest does a monthly handicap update of the expansion process, they have never been too keen on StL chances since the start, but now have us dropping behind Charlotte and Cinci - For what its worth i their analysis is pretty superficial. no insider info just based on what news outlets have available, with an announcement of legitimate owner group we will be a favorite.

That article said that the group was going to meet with David Peacock... best case, they're added to a larger more influential ownership group and they start taking more community input... either way I'm curious how much money they have...
