The only worthwhile point made in this discussion has been that StL is saturated with pro sports teams and the NBA is not starting/moving franchises to cities that already have NHL/MLB/NFL teams.

2.5 pages about tearing down the skybridge with lawnchairs and beer with Matt's big rig and photo ops, and a little regional economic comparison wears on you?

Clearly, there is much more than the Boulder MSA, i.e. part of the other two MSAs, included in the Denver-Aurora-Boulder CBSA. In any case, saying that the two are comparable is hardly indicative of drug-induced fatuity. TV market size isn't very useful either. Denver has a much larger transient population than St. Louis, i.e. a whole lot of people that couldn't care less about Denver sports. And, statistics never lie, only the people using them do.
Marshall Faulk thinks St. Louis is bigger than Denver!

Looks like they're doing some work around the backside of the building. It appears they have some heavy equipment in the old courtyard area and are doing some major ripping up and tearing down back there. It was a quick drive-by but there appeared to be a bobcat and a backhoe.
We can only hope this will put them on track for a spring/summer 2008 opening.

A Friend just interviewed for a job as a bartender at the old planet hollywood location on the landing, the name of new bar is going to be the "Fiesty Bulldog." Would not be my first pick for a name but since they are conducting interviews I would guss they would plan on opening in the next few months.
The Feisty Bulldog has been open for a long time... Maybe it's moving from one spot of the Landing to another?
hmm, guess I must be mistaken, she said it was going to be in the old Planet Hollywood building which is the one I thought was planned for Marshall Faulks restaurant. I was not aware that there was already a feisty Bulldog, I don't make it down to the landing that often. I guess it is possible that they are moving, I will have to tap my friend to get some more info, sorry for the mis-information.

As much as I want to think this place will do well, I'm not sure Marshall has the name pull as other former St. Louis icons, and it will heavily have to rely on the food.
Post did an article on other athlete restaurants that bit the dust recently across the country - obviously the food is a major issue, but I think the athlete draw is actually more important in St. Louis.
Obvious Marshall is a huge name in football, but in St. Louis? Had a few good years, then trailed off, and we really never heard from him after 2003. Plus, the Rams haven't been in St. Louis all that long to have built up the die-hards (see attendance figures). Perhaps a Torry Holt or Issac Bruce place would go over better?
Of course, I'm still skeptical about Albert's place pissing in Ozzie's pool. I still don't understand why he didn't try for something either further west or closer in. Westport? Geez....

Drove past Skybox tonight... Looks Great! they must have been training tonight, all the tv's and lights were on with several people learning at the bar. They are also doing alot of work to the outside patio in the back. This place could be very cool!
According to the Blacktie-St. Lous website there's a benefit event at Skybox tonight for Nelly's 4Sho4Kids Foundation. My invitation must've gotten lost in the mail!
Good to hear. Look forward to checking it out. Linehan should thrown Saunder's a Welcome Back party after Nelly's event.

Yes, of course. On herre (message boards) and in rap music, we really must enforce spelling standards. And grammar, dammit. And no bad words. (And no sentence fragments.)

And also apparently when someone is hosting a fundraiser for kids. Certainly the most important thing is making sure the grammar is correct.

Don't we want to send our kids the message that spelling is important? By continuing to allow phonetic spelling, we end up with kids who thing it's akseptuhble 2 rite lyke this.
I'd prefer not to need the Zoolander School for kids who wanna learn to read good, and do other stuff good too.

I believe the correct grammar would be "read well".
Something tells me that proper grammar in the Zoolander school is not a priority. The ability to render a stunning "blue steel" visage reigns supreme. There, they "read good."

How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to read if they can't even fit inside the building?
