Thanks for the clarification. Seems I was given bad information from the club operator. My bad. Great to hear it from the source.

So what is the plan for the bldg now that the club is moving out? Is there something else in the works?

Mark,
Hope you find a dependable operator with a good solid business plan. With the opening of highway 40 in six months, it might be best to delay until late October or early November.
Would a new operator have to begin operations with a 1:30am close?

Lush caused a number of problems in the area. Their liquor license was revoked early last week and as most of us know, no liquor means no club.
Ahhhh, so this was the place that attracted the clientele that shot and killed three people last week...

I didn't know there had been issues. The only thing I'd seen was the hellacious traffic jams that occured when The Loft and Lush closed for the night.

No: Lush is/was by the intersection of Olive and Compton. It was close to Pappys, The U and other restaurants.
The place where the three murdered guys came from was out behind Union Station.
My bad. I was thinking of the shooting @ 20th & Olive. But that's a ways from Lush...
The old Lush Nightclub is set to reopen as Karma Nightclub this weekend (August 28, 2009). The operators and owner of the club remain the same as was that of Lush just before its' closing a few months ago.

Are you sure about that? The story I'd heard is all/most of the Lush people got out and that at best one was staying along for the new place to try and help with the liquor license transfer.
I'm farely sure. The club owner/promoter is the same. There may have been modifications made on paper to avoid static.

Why would the club try to operate the same as before? If it's broke, fix it.ikazy1 wrote:I'm farely sure. The club owner/promoter is the same. There may have been modifications made on paper to avoid static.
This is typical of clubs in St. Louis. The life span of a club can be very short. Owners/operators of clubs often stay open for a period of time, close for a period of time, and then reopen with a new name/gimmick and/or location. It appears that there was a technicality in the liquor license before and not a cash flow issue.
