Yes it does, but anyone can walk into the casino and have their ticket validated, which is actually a pretty clever strategy to get people into the casino. BTW, I asked in Lumiere where I could get my parking validated and one of the greeters said, "right inside the casino". So, to get your ticket validated you have to have a MyChoice card and enter the gambling area. Clever bastards. :!:
When I went to shows at Mississippi Nights (not that that's exactly relevant anymore!) and drove, I'd always just park in the always nearly-empty Admiral lot. Go in and get my ticket validated, maybe grab a dirt cheap drink if I had time, and walk off to the show.

The Admiral charged you a buck for the loss-limit tracker card, but you're still ahead at that point compared to what they charged for parking elsewhere.

Can we agree that this is the least cheezy casino in the area? I like the tower and lights, especially compared to St. Charles, East St. Louis, Alton and Maryland Heights.

This week I noticed a model of the Lumiere Place residential component by the East Terminal baggage carousel. Its pretty interesting to look at however I'll believe in its construction when I see it.

Saw it in the east terminal myself - quite large and impressive - although - you never know - they got this monster done and with class!

So, is Lumiere Place rooting for the Illini in the Braggin' Rights game or what? They were proudly shining the orange and blue all night last night, now it's just orange. Gonna be kind of tough to do black and gold, at least when its light out. Guess they'll just have to go with baby sh*t brown and gold and hope nobody notices. :P

So when are we going to see the combover do all of the things that we "have no idea that it can do" anyway? Are they going to wait until New Year's for the, um, re-unveiling?

Rossini $60.00

Kobe beef, sautéed foie gras, shaved truffles, Madeira sauce, on onion bun

Named after a XIX th century Italian composer whose love for fine food was legendary. The preparation always includes foie gras, truffles and a rich brown sauce, in this case, Madeira.

SubZero has a Kobe beef burger that's like $28.

And then there's the $10 Kobe beef burger at The Royale that shares its name with the establishment, which is excellent. The $8 Kingshighway, with plain ol' Angus, is rather tasty as well. 8)

Noticed the impressive mockup myself at the East Terminal. Too bad they couldn't put the same model in the ticket area of East Terminal as well as selective areas in the Main Terminal. You have to pay attention to what you looking for when leaving the baggage claim.

Actually, if you look at the cam for the hours before, during and after the Rams game, it looks clear that they were "rooting" for the Rams. Half blue, half gold all the while..

I heard there was a malfunction with the "light box" on opening night. Supposedly caused by the vibration of the fireworks.

I'm disappointed that the additional lighting was only temporary. Lumiere looked gorgeous opening night. :?

Somehow, I hadn't even noticed those went missing. They really added to the aesthetic of the place, so it sucks they've already shipped 'em off.

Tried Asia (the restaurant). Service, food and ambience were exceptional. Staff knew the answers about Sushi and signature dishes.

Browsed through the menu of the Burger Bar. Frankly, it is an expensive burger joint, but you are in a casino, most probably making a $100+ donation anyway....... another $15 is not going to hurt you :)

The main restaurant (Sleek) is not yet open.

It seems that parking will be "charged" when casino is in full swing and that validation will be done inside the Casino.

This place will make money. The overall atmosphere is good. As close to Vegas as they can get in STL.

While I was downtown last night, it was shining gold, so I guess they're rooting for both teams.

I went last night. Burger Bar was excellent. I had the "American Classic" and it was definitely one of the better burgers in town. Played poker for about 4 hours I did hear a lot of girlfriends that were going to be waiting for their boyfriends at neighboring bars. I definitely think this is going to be a benefit to the landing.

Cocktail waitresses do not even compare to other casinos, all top shelf.

Was downtown at Morgan Street last night and there was a fairly consistent flow of people coming to bars from the casino and vice versa. Deffinitely think it's going to be a benefit to the landing.

I went down to Lumiere to check it out. Also my brother went with and it was great. We both really enjoyed it. I had a little bump in the road with the promotion that they have going on with their site lightuplumiere.com but after being shifted back and forth a floor supervisor got a casino host for me and straightened everything out. I didn't get 2 out of the 3 prizes but they told me when it would availiable. Apparently the marketing department just threw it on them at the last minute about how to handle the prizes and stuff. However, I do have to say that the staff that I spoke with were great and very friendly. Also the line for the MyChoice card wasn't to bad. Overall I enjoyed my experience there and will be going back. Also since it is closer so longer Ameristar and Harrah's.

Finally got down there today. First impressions are good, but they do have a lot of unfinished business from the parking lot mud to the cordoned off sections of the main building, the place just feels unfinished. But the color scheme and choice of materials were top notch. Not sure about the ventilation system, I typically avoid casinos because of second hand smoke. The place wasn't all that busy and the smoke was very noticeable, but I'm not sure if they can dial the system up in response to the number of folks in the building. If not, it could get unbearable. I was also disappointed with the the minimums at the black jack tables ($15). Looking forward to the hotels getting finished and the tunnel opening. The place certainly has potential! Oh, don't forget to check out the free lattes and expressos at the beverage stations!

Do they give free drinks to people gambling? Haven't been down there yet, just curious.

On my way back in to STL last night we flew over downtown and I must say that it looks awesome with Lumiere lit up. The aerial view at night is spectacular.

That said, I noticed they have been using just one color per night with the glohawk. Is there a reason why they haven't been mixing it up with different colors or patterns?

Did any one else have a problem with the parking lots? I was in a lot just east of the casino. There were spots where the surface dropped about 6 inches. Not great for your shocks or alignment. It looks like they

planned it this way. You appear to be on a small patio section of pavement,

then it drops off. Please tell the plan to fix this.

I think that the Lumiere tower looks great as you approch from the west on Hwy 70, the tower creatively illuminated almost to be a gigantic and looming number "7" in the sky.

I like much of the street level where it extends Lacledes Landing northward, but I think that the angled-entrance is out of place: it conflicts with the rigid-rectangular geometry of the Lacledes Landing streets and shops.

Excellent point about the appearance of the Landing in comparison to Lumiere. The Four Seasons web site makes careful use of photos of the Landing. I'd imagine they will exert some influence on a clean- and fix-up program.
