How about a stand-alone Panda Express!! I love Panda Express and they have a stand alone in KC... That place would do amazing business!

^But, Chick-Fil-A was ranked as the most healthy national chain restaurant (fast food or fine dining) by Yahoo!. Of course, it was Yahoo, so take it as you like. And I couldn't really care less about the health of it as long as it tastes good, but some do.

There's about a million stand alone Panda Expresses in Los Angeles. Drive south on Sepulvida from LAX and you'll pass a bunch. There's one huuuuge store in the Manhattan Beach area.

It could be worse, it could be a McDonalds.

When it comes to fast food, I happen to prefer Burger King.

Burger King wouldn't be that bad. When it comes to cheap fast food burgers the Whopper wins hands down in my book.

The new BKs aren't bad looking either. I just wish there weren't so many ghosts of Burger Kings circa 1986 littering the landscape

The 2008 Burger King will be the eyesore of 2030.

As will be Loughborough Commons.

Not even the suburbs are building conventional suburban developments like this anymore. Check out skyscraperpage forum's St. Louis project rundown. The suburbs and their "lifestyle centers" are bloated and pretentious--but they're 100 percent better than Loughborough Commons.

Here's a link to an article about the upcoming Lake St. Louis lifestyle center.

I'm just saddened to see anything new open in this shopping center--especially the last thing St. Louis needs more of--fast food. I want LC to fail even faster than its likely 15 year lifespan so that we can see retail development on this site that respects an urban neighborhood as well as the car culture. Even a lifestyle center would be more appropriate.

Said "upcoming" lifestyle center in Lake Saint Louis is up and running already (although several large tenants have yet to open).

Lake St. Louis gets Cardwell's; Loughborough Commons gets Burger King.

Oops...my bad. I would use the "I live 675 miles away excuse," but the psychological distance between Lake STL and my former Forest Park Southeast address seemed just as far.

It looks like there is something going in next to the nail salon. The lease sign is down and the windows are covered. Anyone have the scoop? Thanks.

PostOct 01, 2008#137

I stopped by there on my way home from work tonight. According to the permit sign it is a Chinese place going in called China King. They are currently doing drywall. I am guessing they will be open by end of year or early 2009.

^Is it a chop suey place?

You can't have a nail salon in the city of St. Louis without a chop suey place nearby, and vice versa. I am pretty sure that's in Title 26 somewhere...

I heard the space in between OfficeMax and BreadCo has been leased. Anyone know who the tenant might be? Thanks.

^ Not sure yet. If there's not already a game store, that might be it.

It's a matress store. I noticed the sign on the exterior this weekend. Kind of a small space for a matress store.

I'm guessing all the extra room to the east (the parking lot) is possibly being saved for a Metrolink station?

Keep wishing for that Metro Station. Although there is a plan to bring a River Des Peres Bike Trail extension up through there and into Carondelet Park.
