Not sure where else to put this, but the CWE Straub's has been listed.

Story doesn't say a whole lot, but whenever I am in there, it's not all that crowed. (Unlike WF)

Does the form based code affect that lot? Should be one of the top sites in the area.

no idea!

It's probably a pipe dream but I think a Trader Joes would do quite well there.

More info here:

most salient item: "Straub's president and CEO Jack "Trip" Straub said that the store — a neighborhood staple since 1948 — will continue its normal operations while the building is on the market."

Well that would be a great spot to redevelop, not going to lie - If they are not interested in reopening a store in the CWE it would suck. That meat and seafood counter is unmatched. The grocery business is tough, margins are super thin.

Agree, huge loss regardless of the proximity to Whole Foods

Massive gain if this could be redeveloped into something more like the Whole Foods' development.

I think they are fishing the possibilities. Maybe they catch a high rise developer. The site is roughly 35,000 sq ft. ($100 sf).

Maybe they work with a developer to be a part of its podium.

That's why I'm curious about the zoning of this site. Would a high-rise even be permitted?

This site does not fall under the form based code. I imagine you could get away with a Citizen Park sized building on that site. Not a bad size.

Here's a theoretical view from ~20 stories up (as low as I could get using Google Maps) of Forest Park from over the Straub's lot:

And here's looking towards Downtown:

A view to the south would be largely of the Chase Park Plaza and the Barnes Jewish complex behind it:

And a view to the north overlooking Holy Corners:
