LOL… Does this guy has a bad rep? Like I’m learning all this stuff and read it on other news sources. How do you know he hasn’t gotten any financing and all of it is BS? Again I’m just learning not trying to funny.

He calls himself the Turkish Trump. The real estate developer says he chases deals across former Soviet republics, Central America and Africa. He boasts of advising government leaders around the world and teams up with foreign investors whose names he won't reveal.

He is Mukemmel "Mike'' Sarimsakci, an admirer of President Donald Trump.  And he is ready to help launch the Trump Organization's new Scion brand with a hotel in downtown Dallas.

But in teaming up with Sarimsakci, the Trump family business has chosen a man with a checkered business history and murky international ties who is prone to floating big plans for projects that don't always materialize, a Dallas Morning News investigation found.
Wow! Just the read the whole thing!! Well its sad that the city allowed or did any type of business with a person with this record! Hopefully it gets developed but after reading this I doubt it. Hopefully I’m wrong!!

This is the opposite of good, they wouldn’t be putting lipstick on a pig if development was about to start.

Enough with the PR push for an abandoned building. The beautification/art installation effort is fine, but press releases, tweets and generally telling people to "head downtown" should be focused on actual events, organizations and operating businesses.

If you're heading Downtown go to Wash. Ave., City Garden, Old Post Office Square, Soldiers Memorial, City Museum, Blues Museum, Arch Grounds, Union Station, Schlafly Tap Room, etc... not some abandoned stretch of Tucker with a few posters up.

Seriously.  I'm all for showcasing local (especially amateur photographers), but just let people notice them on the walk by.  Stop drawing attention to this giant, empty beast.  At least they're framing it as before a "planned $100 million renovation" that most of us know won't happen.

At&T Bell tower Somera Road has a wide variety of projects in their background (office, retail and residential). I imagine what will be seen here is a mixture of those three + a hotel

There are some behind the scenes work still happening on this. I can’t release any details but my firm was engaged to do some due diligence work. Some news is still good news, right? Hotel (225 rooms), apartments (235 units, and retail (29,000) still planned.

I find it hard to believe long stalled projects like this that couldn't get going in the good times will suddenly gain traction in the higher interest rate/inflation environment we will be enjoying for the next couple years.

Pyramid really sh!t the bed kicking out all those seniors in the 2000s just to go belly up and then have the building sit vacant indefinitely.

I've always been suspect and critical of Alterra's ability to place the financing needed for the project.  With that being said, debt products exist that take 1.5 - 2 years to close that allow rate lock at application.  So, in theory, they could have locked  year ago, started the process, and now are on the verge of closing.  That would surprise me but possible.
