So, sorta like Shady Jacque's.
A couple of the prospective tenants seem a little cheesy, but I'm just glad Trump Hotels is no longer going to flag the hotel.

here's his confidence factor in STL
Sarimsakci said St. Louis is "an emerging U.S. market." He said he is impressed by the metro area's diversified economy, educated workforce, $150 billion gross domestic product and "thriving" startup industry.

Like what I'm hearing and he said he's seen worse when it came to the condition of the building so I'll take it
I really like the developer's optimism and knowledge of St. Louis. His optimism could transfer to other potential projects.
Currently, there are only three in the United States - New York, Chicago and Dallas.

^^ He is the same guy (I believe) that said he could envision building a 50 story tower on the North Riverfront. I like the way that guy thinks! If only everybody in the region had that kind of optimism.

Now open! Looks pretty neat.JaredOpsal wrote:Fitness Factory is moving there to make room for LockerDome to move into the old Fitness Factory space. There will still be parking above.STLrainbow wrote:^ can't wait to see the final product and hopefully it'll boost Lucas Park environment. Do you know more about this project, btw? Is McGowan Bros. also moving their office there? And are the top floors still parking?

Anyone know what's going to go into Lockerdome's current location once they move into the now old Fitness Factory space?

Most likely a "For Lease" sign.STLhistoryBuff wrote:Anyone know what's going to go into Lockerdome's current location once they move into the now old Fitness Factory space?

There has long been a rumor that Sen Thai would relocate to that old J&W/Lucky's Space, but I'm not sure if that ever had real legs or not.
I saw this picture of the building on the Vintage St. Louis FaceBook Page today. I like all the surrounding buildings. ![]()

^ cool photo... look at all that retail on the street level! We might not be able to bring back those neighboring buildings, but hopefully we can reactivate some of those bays.
I believe that was the Star building.
The thing that gets me about this photo is the old buildings. WHY did we have to demolish those older buildings for garages and lots? What a waste, hopefully developers can fill in those lots soon.
10 story building that could have many jobs, residents, etc, instead a drive thru bank. And we wonder why the city can't pay its bills.
I am sure that bank would gladly move if the right price for the property was given but even if there was no price given, that Bank will move within the next few years. When that happens, that whole corner will need redevelopment from the abandoned garage attached to the Board of Elections Building to that gigantic lot on Locust at Tucker. This could be a very busy corner if precautions to make it busy were made.quincunx wrote:10 story building that could have many jobs, residents, etc, instead a drive thru bank. So Much Undeveloped Land here. The Garage is in the Lower left along Locust.

The building to the right - the Silk Exchange - was destroyed in a fire.
^here is a link to the silk building. It has fire damage pics, etc.

As for the building on the left, it is the Star building. I can find some pics but no reason for it being torn down.
