The post is up and the free standing IKEA sign shouldn't be far behind.

Think of all the furniture those international air travelers are going to buy while they're in Nashville! Please oh please open a store in Nashville!! This is such a hub for people traveling from all over everywhere with our international airport - THIS is where the next IKEA needs to be!!
See, it's not just St. Louisans that are delusional.urban_dilettante wrote:I love this reader comment from the above link:

And you expected....?dbInSouthCity wrote:but there is nothing inside..its just a shell right now.
Well....sorry.dbInSouthCity wrote:just that....so a story about a sneak peak is really a non story since there is really nothing to get a sneak peak at...
I was making reservations for elsewhere and I checked the Grove Hilton Home 2 website out of curiosity. They show July 27th as the opening.roger wyoming II wrote:^ Also opening up in the general area by that time or soon after will be the STLCOP building, the new STORZ building, the Environmental Management building, the Hilton2Home Hotel, the Standard and West Pine Lofts. I'm not sure when the Gerhardt Block project is due for completion but it also looks like it is coming along nicely.
But the Whole Foods won't open until April 1, according to nextstl (not sure about the apartments).
This store certainly seems to have more glass than other IKEAs I've seen.roger wyoming II wrote:View from the swedish meatball consumption zone

I wouldn't expect anything less from the city. But between all the big trucks and the work on the opposite corner there hasn't been a window yet for paving the horrible streets in the area. I would home the city has it one their list.roger wyoming II wrote:Also, if they aren't going to pave Vandeventer and Forest Park Aves before opening that will be a pretty poor introduction to Saint Louis for visitors.
