The foundation drill has moved to the strip mall site.

Did they finish driving foundations here? I notice that the drill is gone.
Also, the project goes before the Board of Adjustment again on October 14th...

WARD 28 #AB-556041-20

ZONE: “H” – Area Commercial District
According to the Assessor's website the permit was issued July 28th. Is that just the building division?

Living here, this is getting to the scary/hellish stage. No peace whatsoever until God knows when, as I'm sure the whole project will take longer than they say.
On the plus side, if the white supremacist police murder a citizen, there's no almost commercial here to smash up. Silver linings and all.

I live a block away and yeah, you can hear construction, but it’s really not bad. I’m both impressed and pleased with how quickly they are moving on this. Feels like they’re making up for lost time. They’ve dug out quite a bit on the park and ride lot now.throatybeard wrote:Living here, this is getting to the scary/hellish stage. I was surprised the trees weren't cut down sooner.

Most of them, at least, were just fairly disposable Bradford pears. But they senselessly murdered two Lindens and a Poplar around the perimeter.quincunx wrote: ↑Sep 27, 2020I was surprised the trees weren't cut down sooner.

^ the treatment of old, mature trees as disposable really f*cking bothers me.
^ Actually the Bradford Pear is considered an invasive species by the Missouri Department of Conservation. They have a tendency to choke out native Missouri plants and vegetation. Probably better they get removed and replaced with a native Missouri tree like Serviceberry, which has similar characteristics.

^ sure. i agree Bradford Pears are awful. my parents' subdivision in Fenton—built in the late 80s—is littered with them. i'm just saying in general.

They’ve been digging out a trench on the north lot where the trees used to be the last couple days.

^^Life sure will be different for those dozen or so homeowners right in the immediate area. Not saying better or worse; just different.

It is pretty impressive when you consider that there are four major residential projects under construction or renovation in a four block radius right now.
Hopefully, this will finally provide the critical mass of residents with disposable income to establish a consistent retail streetscape around Pershing/Debaliviere. That is the one thing that has been holding this area back, versus the CWE, since, well...at least since Metro opened...

With Delmar Divine going on just 5 blocks away from Pershing & DeBaliviereurbanitas wrote:It is pretty impressive when you consider that there are four major residential projects under construction or renovation in a four block radius right now.

I was counting that, and Pearl's two buildings as one project, but yes...unless there's something else? Did they ever finish the renovation of the building across from Delmar Divine?SeattleNative wrote: ↑Oct 16, 2020With Delmar Divine going on just 5 blocks away from Pershing & DeBaliviereurbanitas wrote:It is pretty impressive when you consider that there are four major residential projects under construction or renovation in a four block radius right now.

Are there still plans for a crane to be used on this site?

BJ link:In early August, the Commercial DeBaliviere Place Association sued to block the Expo shortly after Tegethoff closed on the real estate. A judge denied Lux’s request for a temporary restraining order, and Expo countersued, accusing Lux of conspiring to delay its project. That lawsuit is ongoing.

Tegethoff’s Expo development, which the city last year endorsed with a $14 million tax increment financing incentive package, now appears full speed ahead. Tegethoff was scheduled to appear Tuesday for a groundbreaking with Mayor Lyda Krewson, Alderwoman Shameem Clark Hubbard, Alderwoman Heather Navarro and Bi-State CEO Taulby Roach. Brinkmann Constructors is the general contractor and Trivers is the architect on the project.
