^ Yes. Fixtures scheduled to go in today.
I just called and they said that they are going to be open in the Grove mid-week probably Wednesday.
Everest had a soft opening last night, a buffet featuring some of their traditional greatest hits and one of the new Korean dishes. The States plan to open for real biz on Wednesday or Thursday.
Amy Gill and Erin O'Brien did a spectacular job on the restaurant design. Everest fans -- and new customers -- are going to be thrilled.

Hooray - I've been waiting for something more like this (rather than Five/etc. though those are great) in the Grove!!!
While I'm happy to see The Grove grown, my stomach will be very sad. I used to be able to walk to their old location on Washington.
Maybe someday they'll come back downtown with a second location.

I think they were too early for that section of downtown.
I thought they were still keeping the downtown location, but that it would be Korean food. I can't wait to check out the new location. Hands down the best lunch for under $8 in St. Louis.
Looks like they have reopened in the Grove!

stltoday.com linkAbout four years ago, St. Louis diners got their first glimpse of Nepalese food with the opening of Everest, which occupied a charming if somewhat ramshackle outpost toward the western edge of the downtown loft district. The location was probably ahead of its time, and the westward flow of rehab work may have been the prime mover for the restaurant's recent change in venue.
I'll miss Everest's proximity to my own office, but the move to the Grove — the ever-expanding bar and restaurant district on Manchester Avenue between Vandeventer Avenue and Kingshighway — lets diners experience this exotic cuisine in much nicer surroundings.

The new space has a full room for the lunch buffet, which has allowed for it to be a bit larger. Yum.
Looks like the move to the Grove has been good. Tried to go to lunch there today and as I pulled up there's a group of people standing out front. I park and walk towards the door and as I walk up one of the guys standing up front says "This is the line." I ask if he's serious and someone else confirms. I look inside and the place is packed.
Hopefully they'll make enough money in the Grove to open a 2nd location back downtown.

Damned media.

I hope so. The new location is kind of a pain to get to without a car because of where the relevant bus routes hook into Metrolink. I went quite a bit before he moved.
Nice piece in the P-D the other day on Everest.

The Post did a write-up? That explains it. Whenever a place gets a positive review in the Post of RFT I figure the place is pretty much off limits for the next few weeks because they'll be so busy.
Maybe the subject can be changed now since they've relocated? Perhaps, "Everest Cafe, in the Grove"
^^Thanks, Expat. In this case, the guilty make-it-too-busy article wasn't a review, it was a story on spicy-hot soups in the Let's Eat section that happened to go into Devi's rather remarkable life story.
