I walk by 6038 Delmar the Rosedale Building and repair work was being done. If they keep up the good work it would almost look like nothing had happen to it in the first place.

St. Louis Artworks is rehabbing the former hardware store at 5959 Delmar to consolidate their programs. Trivers is designing the renovation:

^Unfortunately, Artworks has no plans to continue in their Crown Square space in Old North. Their lease is up in May, and they will not be renewing. All of their focus will be on their new space. I like having Artworks in Crown Square, but this could be an opportunity for a more active use of their space.

Not a huge leap in terms of design (IMO the lines of the building are already very appealing), but a great shift in use. I'll be interested to see what they end up doing with the outdoor space along the east side of the building. Great to see the Loop continuing to expand eastward.

Wish we had a hardware store again. Had to go down to Maplewood to get a screen fixed.

^Yeah. It was nice back in the day when there was the True Value next to where the Fifth/Third is now. If you want to support a local St. Louis City hardware store that is about the same distance from the Loop as Maplewood, try New Market Hardware @ Sarah & Laclede.

With everything going on in the central corridor these days, I'm a little surprised at the slow pace of development in the East Loop.

I can take one bus to Maplewood.

^True that. We need more people to support all these businesses. I wish for a 12 story proposal for Skinker at Enright.

^It'll be a great day when you can take one train from the Loop to Sarah & Laclede.

I agree. I'm hopeful there will be a proposal at the Church's, Missionary Baptist Church, or Laclede Cab/"Loop Center" sites. I think first we'll see a Phase II Loop Loft proposal in the 4-6 story range at Westgate & Enright (consistent with the initial site plan). Still, having such a density of students has to ultimately help fill stores, increase rents, and push development east.

I saw that vacant boarded up apartment building just east of the Delmar metro-link station being rehabbed today. Look like not a cheap job ether. I think it was on enright When trolley is built watch the west end take off

Any hopes out here?

The southeast corner of Sknker and Enright isn't showing up as a parcel like it's all a street, curious.

Hope for a big tall apt building on the northwest corner of Skinker and Enright. Obstacles are that the parking lot there is owned by a church and the guy who owns the house there probably will want a big payout. Crazy the city only assesses the land for that lot at $1,430.

The blighting former fast food building at Delmar and Skinker sits with a sign seeking leasees. Been empty over two years now. Hopefully n oone will jump at the opportunity and the owners will change their tune about swelling or developing something worthy there.

6105-23 Delmar, the empty lot. Something like what's proposed for 5539 Pershing with a retail component would be great.

The two lots west of DeGiverville have the Chop Suey place, a seasonal tax preparer and the check cashing place which advertises EBT cards accepted, but for what exactly? The Chop Suey property is owned by the business owner. They're content to let the place look like crap.

Northeast corner of Delmar and Hamilton long a blight. Hear owner wants way to much.

My dream for Delmar at Goodfellow would be a 3-5 story building with a hardware store on the first floor. The lot to the west could be for parking and lawn/garden section. The corner lot hasn't had its taxes paid for a few years. Donno anything about the empty lot to the west.

My idea for the building at SW corner of Delmar and DeBaliviere is for a microbrewery.

^ It would be great if development pressures got to the point Metro relocated that enormous facility.... that is a superblock that needs to be humanized, and that handsome older building on the corner would make for a nice drinking establishment.

Also, don't forget 5853 Delmar; that is the infamous vacant lot owned by the Missouri Historical Society that helped cause the former director to pack his bags and head back home to the Upper Peninsula. Hopefully a solid plan can be developed for that.

Anyone know the status of the form based code? It would be a help to get rid of the parking minimums.

Pita Pit closed. Not enough student foot traffic that far down, IMO. Really need a building with apts across the street.

Maybe they closed because not enough students (or anyone) thought it was that good?

Its a mystery why the east loop is not chuck full of mixed use student housing. Seems like the Delmar Loop would be a prime spot for more apartments with the Metrolink station right there and universities and Forest Park nearby. Very strange.

We tried to stay regulars, but every time the food and service was bad. They supposedly closed at 9pm but had no problem putting the chairs on the tables at 8pm or earlier. The lack of Wash U student traffic is telling.

^ WHOA! This is huge....real huge! I've always thought TOD around the Metrolink station in Delmar was a no brainer, even before the trolley.
