This seems like an awful lot of high-end steak in a very small area.
Ah, what agonies a food critic must endure.

Good point. If not to show sports, one wonders what they do with the "stunning video system" and "High-end flat panel screened TVs"?

I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I'm working on the design for this place so I can tell you, there are definitely enough TVs. No worries. This place will be unlike anything I've seen in St. Louis (speaking design and not food because I have yet to have the pleasure). My understanding is that it's as much, if not more, about wine than martinis.

FYI, there will be outdoor seating in the plaza.

I figured they would have outdoor seating but also wondered if the waterfall right next to it will be too noisy. When that thing is coming down it can get fairly loud and could be a nuisance to patrons trying to enjoy dinner and conversation on the patio. UrbanPioneer, have any renderings you can post? It would really be cool if they could do some type of large gas firepit for colder evenings out on the patio (similar to the Four Seasons), I think the Terrace View at CityGarden missed the boat on this one. And lastly, wonder how they will address location and/or parking? Seems like the place will be hard to find for anyone outside of downtown. It's a fantastic location and think it makes for a great setting in the plaza but it is kind of tucked away, especially with the canopy of trees blocking the frontage of the restaurant. I think they need to think about this when doing their marketing and signage. Parking is actually not that difficult as they could work out an agreement with both the 9th street garage and the R. Grand garage.

Where does J Buck's fit into the sports bar/dining scene? Never been.

Nice place. Not high end by any means. I believe the one in Clayton is nicer, although it's been 10 years(?) since I've been there. Not long after it opened.

I've been there a few times. Sports-themed, but not really a sports bar. Nice place. Apparently they have a rooftop deck now.

I thought they had changed the name to Joe Buck's. I believe that's what the staff's shirts read though I do need to make a trip to the optometrist.

nope, still JBucks but now owned by Joe Buck and family. The rooftop looks great, I can't wait to check it out.

Will this location still have the look and feel of the others per their website?

I've been to the top a few times. Its a great view. Was there on a Friday back in July and saw the fireworks at the Arch which was nice. Now if they could finish rehabbing the rest of Cupples Station, it would look that much better.

Actually, it is Joe Bucks, not JBucks. Fairly certain it is now a seperate entity from JBucks. I don't even think the Bucks own it, just have naming rights.

Yep. Changed about 6 months ago (maybe more), IIRC.

The Buck's own both places. The one in Clayton might still be called J Buck's, but I'm not sure.

ETA: While googling for the answer regarding the Clayton location, I came upon this: http://www.terezowens.com/joe-buck-gay- ... exploding/. That certainly is odd. :)

Walking by to the game yesterday I'm pretty sure the sign said Joe Buck's, and there is something called Joe Buck's Show Room on the J Buck's website, but yeah it is awfully confusing!

Downtown's is called Joe Buck's and Clayton's is J Bucks.

How long does it take for a place like this to open? When will they be recruiting staffers?

Yes and no. Lets just say there are certain standard Shula's finishes and certain places where the design will be completely unique. The public lobby, which mediates between the restaurant and bar portions (and thus is a part of Shulas), will look and feel unlike anything on the website. No renderings and I can't release any drawings... but trust me. 8)

Has anyone had a chance to check this place out yet? Just wondering what the food and atmosphere is like. Their website still hasn't been updated to include the new locations menu yet.

Is it even open yet? I walked by a few weeks ago and it wasn't although it looks like it is ready to go. There were liquor bottles behind the bar.
