^Was all over my feed this morning. Made several local news outlets. Glad to see everyone there. Wish I knew more of the folks on the board. Saw the STyLe guys. :) I hope this has an effect. I've watched SLU tear down  too much. (Worked for Grand Center in the late 90s for a little while.)  And honestly, I want SLU to succeed. My wife got her masters at their business school. Almost went there myself. They're not a bad school, really. But they've historically been bad custodians of the neighborhood they occupy, and that needs to change. I really believe they'll be stronger for it.

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but McKee wants to tear down a historic warehouse in the Bottle District.

East Alton is about to lose a Mid_Century gem. After years of delays, demolition is set to begin next week on the old Citizens Savings Bank.

Maybe they got a developer for rehab lined up. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind them being demoed if they were being replaced by something taller, like student apartments.

^There's no way SLU is going to replace them with anything but grass.

^^Full demo, not limited? Good lord, I'm tired of this fight. SLU is the worst possible steward of our built environment. I guess the protest fell on deaf ears. Anything else that can be done at this point? Any additional hurdles?

Find a buyer for whatever price SLU wants. AFAIK they didn't list them for sale on Loopnet etc, which is a tell as to how seriously they were trying to sell them.

No. It's a full demo permit. Pulled Monday. They told Landmarks Association that they want a cash offer within 20 days or they're moving forward with demo.

Yes, it's been a lot of lip service by SLU. They never intended to preserve or even care about finding a different steward for these buildings. This is classic land banking. Nothing more nothing less. The buildings are sound. And have even had work and upgrades done to them within the last 5-10 years. One has a new roof.

SLU is just land hungry. And will stop at nothing to completely wipe out any remaining old St Louis aesthetic, in the name of their sterile, pruned campus aesthetic. But that's ok. Myself and many others have continued to be a thorn in their ass. And we're not done being little pricks to the administration yet. More to come.

^Are they even listing them anywhere? Loopnet is showing the listing as inactive. What is SLU asking? (Not that I think I'd have a hope in hell of putting anything together, but . . . they could make a neat little venue.)

Indeed, and it would not have happened without the diligent work of Landmarks Association working feverishly behind the scenes to facilitate this outcome.

so what could they do with them.  Kranz aren't in the business of leasing apartments or running restaurants.

3221 could be a small music venue or and art gallery or... something?
