Busted. All I have to say is....
TROLLS GONNA TROLL YA HEARD MEH!
Uh, scary incident occurred Friday night next to the dubliner. A resident of the BeeHat Lofts was entering the building at 11:30pm Friday night when as soon as he opened the door a group of 5-6 young black males jumped him. Brass knuckles and all. He was able to get up and run away to get help but he got seriously injured. Over 50 stitches, plastic surgey and might not gain full sight in one of his eyes. Has been in the hospital for 3 days now.
Police think it is gang related; initiation of new gang members.
I am definitely facking pissed.

What was the crowd like on Washington Fri night? Did they catch the individuals?
Oh no! This is terrible. I know those lofts have their entry on 11th street and not Wash. Ave. but I'm so surprised no one saw this happen. I hope the tenant recovers quickly!

^ I wish I knew the answer. The legal system, as is, is not addressing the issues. Innocent people, who work hard for what they have, are the ones being victimized by these thugs. I am one that feels that the 3 strikes your out law should be standard in every state and every city. I am so sick and tired of criminals with long rap sheets, being set free to victimize more innocent, hard-working people, who want to make this a great city again.

Regarding the Bee Hat incident, any links to the story? Looked around and couldn't find anything. You'd think this would get some press, or at least a blotter.
Also anyone use one of those police scanner apps on the iPhone? I've seen several, but would like to hear from someone who has used one that they like and gets the SLPD.

I am 100% behind you as long as silly drug possession laws aren't part of the "three strikes" rule.DogtownBnR wrote:^ I am one that feels that the 3 strikes your out law should be standard in every state and every city. Steal 3 cars? Yeah I'm fine with locking you up and throwing away the key
Armed robbery 3 times? You ain't getting out till Willard Scott wishes you a happy birthday.
But folks who are caught smoking the ganja three times shouldn't be cloggin up our prison system AT ALL.

Come on, this isn't a St. Louis problem. This is exactly the same thing you see in Anycity, USA.
I haven't seen anything on the Bee Hat incident either, and it's not on https://www.crimereports.com/mattonarsenal wrote:Regarding the Bee Hat incident, any links to the story? Looked around and couldn't find anything. You'd think this would get some press, or at least a blotter.

I downloaded the "TuneIn Radio" app on my Android (HTC EVO 4G) and while it's primarily a repository of online streams for FM and AM radio stations, you can also listen to the "St. Louis City Police and Fire" channel there. I've found it works quite well, actually. You can get TuneIn the Apple App Store for $0.99, and there are free and paid versions of the app in the Android Marketplace.
One qualifying note on any of these types of apps - they all stream over your phone's internet connection if you're not on WiFi. If you don't have an unlimited plan, they can pretty quickly run you up to your monthly cap.

^ Thanks for the tip, I actually have TuneIn Radio and haven't seen that I will look for that channel on here.
And I think that is the actual problem. Not that they are here, that they are everywhere.framer wrote:Come on, this isn't a St. Louis problem. This is exactly the same thing you see in Anycity, USA.
Looks like there was another incident at the same spot on July 6th.
Here is a picture of three suspects that held someone up on July 6th at 11th and Lucas.

Police believe the three people were in an early 1990s maroon Buick or Oldsmobile with a dented rear passenger door.
Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-8477.

Just checked crimreports. Looks like it is up. But it shows that there were no injuries. So are they trying to hide or under report violent crime?rbb wrote:

Not sure about the status of this incident, but the report will not be accurate until the investigations end.

Since Monday there have been four murders in St. Louis. That's exactly one MORE death than the London riots have produced.
- 3,767
^I know a murder is a murder, but you have to suspect that a triple homicide is gang/drug related. When the murders are random and the victims are innocent citizens, it is much more alarming. I am not minimizing murder or human lives, but gangsters and drug dealers choose that lifestyle. My sources on the STLPD tell me all were gang/drug related.
^I guess I don't see how it matters. Surely London has to have a seedy underbelly, same as any city.
I mean I do get your point, but thugs and hooligans are looting London, a city much bigger than STL, and we've had more murders on a quiet week than London has had during rioting?
I guess I have a hard to rationalizing that away. It's disheartening.

^Bad comparison between a US city and English city. Gun laws are totally different
in England, much tighter in fact. Guns are SO easy to come by in the US.

This started when a guy was murdered by the police. The cops claimed he fired upon them but this was proven a lie. The riots in England, occurring in multiple cities, are as much about 'thugs and hooligans' as much as those in Paris. They are a reaction to economic problems and marginalization. Elected officials can reject that but it doesn't change what's going on. There's a lot of poverty, police abuse, and it needs to change. Hopefully there are some reforms in England.
Four murders in St. Louis isn't a big deal. It's a safe city. Have you been looking at crime statistics and skyscraper rankings?
Last night a 20 year old redneck from St. Charles tried to sell me a .38 revolver at Forest Park Station as I was waiting for the Hampton 90. He was talking very loudly to someone on the phone regarding a sale on the bus. I got off and called the police. I hope this hoosier is arrested. He said he "thought someone would want it in the City." What a piece of sh*t.
