and I get St. Louis weather, Cardinals, Post Dispatch, Zoo, Botanical Garden, County, Biz Journal, Community College. Just to name a few.

I'm talking about Google Images search -- related searches. Try searching on St. Louis in Google Images and tell me what you get for related searches.
Apparently, Google has had some problems with this in the past which they have now fixed:

^I get skyline, downtown, zoo, rams, cardinals, blues, skyline at night, etc.
No ghetto anywhere to be found.
However, it has encouraged me to build a company large enough to make a big impact on our skyline. Some of the "skyline at night pics" are really phenomenal.

Strange. Under Google Images, I get:newstl2020 wrote:^I get skyline, downtown, zoo, rams, cardinals, blues, skyline at night, etc.

st louis cardinals, st louis mo, st louis logo, st louis ghetto, st louis blues,
for related searches, even when I try it on our new IPAD we just bought, which knows nothing about who is signed on. I get the same thing from my PC at work. So I'm confused. I also get Ghetto for Midwest cities Youngstown, Gary Indiana, East St. Louis, Detroit, and Buffalo. But not for any East or West Coast Cities.
I hope some good comes from the IBM project. Shows again how our fragmented gov't leads to dysfunction.

The news about this report is very encouraging.stlwriterman wrote:Ha. Sounds like everything else around here.quincunx wrote:I hope some good comes from the IBM project. Shows again how our fragmented gov't leads to dysfunction.

The trouble is, if history is any guide, our leaders will pat themselves on the back for embracing the idea of a report, and then they'll ignore everything in it until the next opportunity for a gut-check comes along, and then it too will be ignored.
See how this works?
If my consulting past is any guide, this document is a roadmap for services that IBM business consulting services can sell to the city of St. Louis. From what I've read of it, most of the recommendations fall into the bread and butter of what they do. Very savvy on their part.
I was talking about image search as well. Google has some nifty ways of making your search history follow you across devices by tracking your email logins. Your IP address and IP block are also used to track you, so even if you are using a brand new device, it is still tied to searches from your IP address or at your IP block.gary kreie wrote:I'm talking about Google Images search -- related searches. For example, if you are using a wireless network to use your iPad, then searches done from other devices on the same wireless network will influence your search results.

Did you see this?:south compton wrote:Why don't we set a trap for Tyrell's cousin? We can disguise you as a 70 year old man and let you wander the streets (armed of course). Once word gets back to the 'hood that there are decoy senior citizens out there just waiting for the chance to kick some ghetto ass, the cowards will stay in their own neighborhoods.the central scrutinizer wrote:
Well, if I blow Tyrell's head off, his cousin is welcome to try to find me.
The full PD story here:Bommarito, who is nearly 80, said he was getting his belongings out of the back seat of his car when the men attacked him. He said he managed to kick and squirm and then bite one of the attackers on the hand before they took his briefcase and the shoes and ran off.
A police report on the incident says Bommarito was hit in the face and knocked to the grass by the suspects who then left in a newer model, white full-size pickup truck they had parked nearby. The report added that Bommarito had a minor laceration above his lip but refused medical attention.

Hmmm...does Bommarito live on the St. Louis or the Clayton side of the line? Are we gonna get a bunch of letter-writers crying that Arundel Place is a dangerous cesspool of crime?

No, but you can get from a dangerous cesspool of crime to Arundel Place in about ten minutes.framer wrote:Hmmm...does Bommarito live on the St. Louis or the Clayton side of the line? Are we gonna get a bunch of letter-writers crying that Arundel Place is a dangerous cesspool of crime?
I did some quick research and, duh, he lives where they don't take 1% of your income to pay the garbage man. Duh.
So how did he become a City police commissioner?leeharveyawesome wrote:I did some quick research and, duh, he lives where they don't take 1% of your income to pay the garbage man. Duh.

Apparently his "research" was a bit too quick.bonwich wrote:So how did he become a City police commissioner?leeharveyawesome wrote:I did some quick research and, duh, he lives where they don't take 1% of your income to pay the garbage man. Duh.
Especially since Vince's restaurant is and always has been in the City, which means they were going to take 1% to pay the garbage man whether he lives there or not.the central scrutinizer wrote:Apparently his "research" was a bit too quick.bonwich wrote:So how did he become a City police commissioner?leeharveyawesome wrote:I did some quick research and, duh, he lives where they don't take 1% of your income to pay the garbage man. ^ Unless he doesn't take a salary from the business. Surely there's a way around paying the 1%.

Why is everyone speculating that he lives in the County? He doesn't.
Since it appears that SLPD responded, hopefully he lives in the City of St. Louis.

^ Don't know who checked the address, but yes, he does live in the city.

He lives in the City.Alex Ihnen wrote:^ per a comment above, he does. Now which one is it?
- 5,433
Correct. According to Geo St. Louis, there are records for 19 parcels on Arundel Place within Saint Louis city limits. One of these parcels is owned by the Bommarito family.
Total time to research this matter and type this post = less than 1 minute.

Hey, I'm just extolling the virtues of Geo St. Louis as a research tool. Whenever I have questions about a building or parcel in the city, I can always count on that site for answers.Alex Ihnen wrote:^ Why are we still talking about where he lives? Answered at 4:22pm.
