NSO is definitely a good idea. Also, if this guy is using a kid to make his deals, which unfortunately is common practice, there is a special place in hell for him. Tell that to the cops when you call, it might get a better response. I am really sorry to hear that this is a problem for you. Nobody should have to deal with that in their neighborhood. Make it your mission to get rid of him. Definitely call in nuisance calls on the house every day and do it right. It has been stated many times on here, but you have to specify that this is a "nuisance" call, have the address ready, and be very specific. Don't be afraid to use your name, your identity will be protected. Get him out of there. Talk to a few neighbors and the neighborhood association and become a nuisance yourself to the police until something is done. It is only a matter of time before violence follows behavior like this if it hasn't arrived already.

Call 911 and describe it as a non emergency. You can also request a call from the officer dispatched to find out more information about the thug (if the cop knows more). I would certainly stay on top of it and keep the cops involved.
The funny thing is the last time I went to Friendlys there was a group of 4 to 5 not so friendly individuals loitering about a block and a half south of Friendlys. This may have been him.
Pardon my ignorance but what do you mean by the "triangle"?

I love Friendly's and don't want to see this kind of "activity" around the bar. You can bet if I see something I will call the cops and I hope everyone else will do the same. Let's make them uncomfortable hanging around that corner so us law abiding folks don't have to be!

No. Never do this. Call 911 and tell them you need an officer to respond. The dispatcher will decide if it is an emergency.Downtown2007 wrote:Call 911 and describe it as a non emergency.

Whats that, they show up? Maybe I need to start buying from him, and the problem will go away. I'm starting to think I'm the problem, and that's a relief. The Central Scrutinizer wrote:

Tholozan and Roger. See, he is not hard to find. Hes got a bunch of dummies that try to be cool by being around him. Then again, if I was doing business with thugs from Madison, or wherever, I'd have some backup.Downtown2007 wrote:The funny thing is the last time I went to Friendlys there was a group of 4 to 5 not so friendly individuals loitering about a block and a half south of Friendlys. What is going on down on the state streets!?! 3 murders last week!

It seems to me that all the murders happened in the Gravois Park neighborhood. I remember looking at a homicide map of either 2008 and 2009 and seeing quite a handful of homicides in that neighborhood unlike the rest of south city.
It's unfortunate that this just reinforces ignorant beliefs about staying off of the state streets.

There were a couple Smash and Grabs that happened at 12:35am this morning in front of the Dubliner on Washington Ave. Just crazy. Wish we had cameras out there!

For the record, Washington is named after the President, so it is not a state street.zink wrote:There were a couple Smash and Grabs that happened at 12:35am this morning in front of the Dubliner on Washington Ave. Just crazy. Wish we had cameras out there!
And people think it's bad here...

Chicago is actually calling for the National Guard to patrol their streets in order to curb violence. Our Midwest friends may soon be living in a military state. Crazy...

They do report crime statistics, but not in the same format or using the same crime labels as the FBI standard, and therefore their statistics cannot be compared to other cities.Moorlander wrote:And you wonder why Chicago doesn't report crime statistics.

Yep, wish we did the same! I think that most dangerous cities list hurts our national image much more than most realize.

Smash and Grab.
It sounds like a hoosier convenient store as in "Hey, Jerry why don't ya run down to the Smash and Grab and pick up a couple of 12 packs?".
Smash and Grab. 24/7.

Can we have a serious discussion about crime control in the city of St. Louis without racial make-up considered a factor? Not a rhetorical question, by the way.

Maybe this forum is not the place for it, but considering race/culture/socioeconomic status is not in and of itself bad. What sucks is the race baiting that one of our posters contributes in nearly every comments section below nearly every crime story at StlToday.com.ttricamo wrote:Can we have a serious discussion about crime control in the city of St. Louis without racial make-up considered a factor?
